A meeting supposedly arranged earlier this month involving Patrick Cryne, the takeover party and the BMBC did not materialise. Since then at two home games none of the prospective new owners have been seen at Oakwell. No further news has come from either party. Knowing the way the council operate It suggests that negotiations involving the BMBC and the prospective owners have collapsed.
Really ??? !!! After attending the 'none' meeting the other week - it's obvious that Barnsley Football Club don't give a flying foook about providing their supporters with any sort of information. So in a nutshell this is what they told us during that meeting........ 'we are not going to tell you anything and until we do then all the rest is speculation (which clearly includes the comments in this initial post)'.
You’d assume that BMBC has a statutory duty to get best value for its assets and for any disposal to be in the public interest. I don’t for the life of me think that the powers that be at BMBC are intentionally scuppering any potential takeover “for the laugh”.
If the takeover has / does go tits up the club will be run within the next few months by a house wife a recent university graduate alded by Barry Taylor FA vice president (not that it ever does BFC any good) and a French CEO who's not been involved in English football for very long. Still so sure we can succeed without a takeover?
It's guess work, I think it's probably failed. I honestly cannot see how James and Mrs Cryne can run the club even in the short term.
