    The only game I've left early was Spackmans last game (I think) at Swillsboro, it was a shocking performance, on a par with Saturday, my mate was on nights and said I'm not being late for this shower of ***** so we left, obviously nowt happened to make us regret it.

    Do you ever miss working there Kev? Some of my Dad's mates took redundancy but have since gone back. My Dad says he wouldn't go back for a million quid a week.

    I miss the craic with my work colleagues and friends. But with respect to the work itself? No, James. As far as I was concerned, once I'd left I started a new phase in my life. Like your Dad, I would never go back. Had I not left I would never have been able to do my archaeological studies and work.

    I bet some will have left early when we were 3 down against Fulham after about 20 minutes.

    If thats the game I am thinking of back in 1982 I think I seriously considered leaving but you cant really leave less than half way through the first half
    Think it was the first game Tony Cunningham played for us - did he score the winner in the end or just one of the 4 goals aswe went on to score 4 to win.

    I've only ever once left a game early - when I was a nipper my older Leeds supporting cousin took me to watch a first division match at Elland Road- that was the classic Leeds team with Clarke Hunter Bremner Lorrimer etc - as we approached the 90th Minute and Leeds were losing 2-0 my cousin said he had had enough and we were leaving , as we got down the steps a muted roar went up as they got one back - shall we go back I said, Nah he said too late only a consolation goal. Just got out onto the road when a much bigger roar went up as we missed the equaliser.

    At that point I promised myself that I would never leave a game early if I had any say in the matter, something I've managed to stick to, Most of the time I could have left early and I wouldnt have missed anything, but occasionally its worth it and I'd rather watch 10 games slip to a defeat but be there for the excitement in the 11th than miss the one or 2 games a season staying was worthwhile.

    So last night QPR having lost their last 3 games were cruising to a 4th defeat - I can see why some of their fans left, but wouldnt you rather be one of the 2 or 3 thousand that were able to say they saw it or one of the 8 thousand who were saying if only?

    Also think on if you are superstitions and when you leave we score - does that mean you always have to leave early to give us a chance?

    I know someone wasn’t feeling all that well on Sat at the game and they had decided that if Leeds got to 3-0 they would be off. Apparently a couple of times Leeds got through and the guy was already on his feet to leave but they kept missing.

    I always leave early. I drive 135 miles each way to home matches, leaving 3-4 minutes early can be the difference between me getting home at 8pm and getting home at 9.30pm due to the congestion in the car park and getting out onto Pontefract Road. Feel free to judge me.

    If the players deserve a round of applause I tend to stay. Last Tuesday and Saturday they deserved nothing,, so I quite happily left early. Both matches were atrocious.

    Not Judging you but does it really add 1.5 hours to your get home time if you leave at the end. If so you need to find somewhere else to park!

    I drive just over 200 miles each way though often stay either Friday or Sat night with my Parents, but am usually back at their house in Wombwell by 5:30. (unless I park in the Riding for Disabled car park because my normal car park is full, then I need to add an extra 15-20 minutes) then have some tea and leave around 7pm and am home by 10:30. If I left and drove straight home after the game I would be home by 8:30 though so I am a bit puzzled.

    My brother can't walk too far so we park in the main car park, the car park gates are closed at the final whistle to allow pedestrians to exit safely so it then becomes a gridlocked free for all when they open the gates and every car is waiting to exit with little or no stewarding. This means that by the time we have fought through the traffic and got to his place where I leave my car it can be well past 6. I take it that you use the M1 for your drive home, trust me, that's a bit of a faster road than the A17!
