I think you might be alone in taking this view of Mamadou. Maybe you've seen him in his swimming trunks, and we haven't?

I mentioned him in a thread yesterday, particularly about his ability in the air. He CAN run, but he won't win any sprint competitions but he can definitely jump and scores plenty with his head. He can give people like Ike Ugbo and Brad Potts lessons in getting off the ground.

Not bad for a chubby lad :)

I think this lad will come good by the season end. He has had more to adjust to that most of the new recruits. He seems keen & from what I've seen he is streets ahead of Ugbo, who I'm afraid needs to go further down the football pyramid to learn he to play in a mens game.

I like him. He's technically the best player we have. Hope this talent won't be wasted.

He seems to be working very hard to fit in with the community, not for the firsy time he has been visiting the academy

Why has he started 2 league matches when we have three strikers?

If I was to guess, I'd say it's because with the players we have, a midfield 5 is our best option, and that better suits Bradshaw to Thiam.

Its definitely not because he's overweight, because he isn't, just look at him.

2 starts, 8 sub appearances. Against cardiff he couldnt press due to his conditioning and was constantly walking around.

As I said he will be on the fringes all season due to his conditioning unless he sorts himself out.

I'm not sure if you have access to ifollow, but if you have have you watched his interview? He speaks often about needing to work hard. He knows what he needs to do get fitter and seems prepared to do it. When his match fitness is there he'll be a right player.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Paul Heckingbottom doesn't seem the sort of manager to have an unfit striker anywhere near the first team squad. There's reasons behind Moncur's exclusion last season, Mowatt going out on loan this, Mallan being nowhere near the team, and Stefan Payne's departure. If Thiam was unfit, I reckon Hecky would play Adeboyejo and/or Brown ahead of him. Ugbo hasn't featured much either for that matter.

I don't know why you keep going on about his conditioning, most people who have commented (other than you) agree he looks physically very strong, but not overweight, he has a good turn of pace and has shown some clever skills both in the box and on the wing. I for one look forward to a few starts from him in a row and I think we will have a very good striker on our hands.

I used to say Mike Sheron was too quick of thought for his colleagues. Unfortunately back then they never got in tune with him. :D

Sherons fastest thought was always backing out of a challenge!
