However from memory the beebs pension pot is split over several key geographic areas.
These being the uk,mainland Eu,Usa,japan and other markets.
These pots are made up of various hedge funds and investment wagons.
Some are based in the geographical areas aforementioned but have multiple sites over the globe. Mostly in sunnier climes.
Some are located directly in a known tax havens such as the british virgin isles...

Theres also several equity investments in companies that fellow BBS users have had a proper head wobble over in recent years due to their ability to avoid tax. Apple,Alphabet,Amazon...

Theres also c100M of property knocking about somewhere.

The figure between 50 billion and a 100 billion is to pay off existing commitments. There will be an additional charge of approximately 20 billion if a transition is approved. As I said I don’t think there will be a transition per se more a permanent Norway arrangement which will be delightful.

I think you have the wrong end of the stick with that comment, certainly as far as Macron and Merkel are concerned, Reform to them means making the EU more business friendly and less constrained by EU top down Govt. The UK has never blocked that approach , in fact the German press has been clear that Germany has lost its major ally in regards to that.
The Reform that Juncker and Verhofstadt talk about is that of ever closer union and more EU control...it will be interesting to see who wins that argument once we have gone, particularly as Merkel is not in a good position, Macron looks to have had a very short honeymoon period and within two years Juncker will be out.

 

I suspect at some point, something small will be the straw breaking the back of Brexit. The government has made too many mistakes and too many things are coming out of the woodwork. They remind me of the generation game contestants spinning plates on poles. They always started with one or two and were doing ok, but get to 5-6 and plates start smashing. The government currently has several hundred plates spinning and is still trying to do more not noticing that lots are just about to smash to the floor.

It doesn't help when the likes of Johnson and the DUP are deliberately throwing plates at anyone they see.

I'm not a millennal. I just find it staggering that anyone wants social regression. If you could let us know which point in history you want to reset the clock to that'd be great. Are we oppressing trans people? Dialing back acceptance of gay people? Or full hog and go for black and ethnic minorities? The problem I have with brexit is that we'd have still been allowed to sign wiseman, odejayi, mellis and paddy McCourt unopposed. It should involve discrimination against **** players to work properly
