Just heard his interview on Chanel 5. Always thought that when managers attack and threaten the players to the media they are feeling the pressure. Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% loyal to the manager, but I’m worried that the pressure is getting to him. We all know that we don’t have the players of class that we had last January and we’ve done miracles with the players that we’ve brought in. Hecky said at the start of the season that we’d no right to expect that every signing would work out and so it’s proving, but we should keep the bollockings in house.
Complaining to a perfume bottle?...! Never done Jose much harm dressing down the players publicly now and again. Maybe he’s tried the in-house bollockings for the last two weeks to no effect, and is looking for a reaction.
Technical ability and experience aside if Hecky feels that some players are not putting in 100% effort then he has every right to call them out and I back his right to do so.
He must be so frustrated. Many managers would have left in the summer. Or hoped to get the sack and pay off.
I’ll worry when they’re all ‘special people’. Or if he starts shoehorning 80s song lyrics into his interviews.
Getting players to understand their contribution. Acknowledging that in a team you are only as good as your weakest link, explaining to individuals and coaching them how to be better players in given situations. I know jack all, but watching football and studying managers even I picked up this. B@@@@@@g a player and tells him to buck his ideas up is pointless.
With a load of prima Donna types with inflated egos. They all chucked the toys out of the pram and downed tools. Knew they’d win with the hierarchy. Leeds did the same to Brian Clough over forty years ago. If any player in our squad thinks he’s more important to the team than the manager they can go.
But different as in those cases the club's would view some of the players as more valuable than the manager. This is not the case for us. In fact we don't have a single player that I would be even remotely bothered about losing. Which sums up the lack of quality within our squad.
Not only is Hecky the best manager we’ve ever had he speaks the most sense.an absolute credit to our club and we are bloody lucky to have him
Sorry, was just replying to your point about it not doing Jose much harm, when in fact it cost him his job. 3 times. Didn't realise I needed to know additional caveats you'd missed out.
Definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Let’s hope Hecky doesn’t fall into that trap.
