Gk - Townsend (Davies did nothing wrong yesterday but sick to death of the goal kick routine to potts that doesn't work) Rb - Mccarthy (Why he didn't walk straight back into the team after injury only Hecky knows) Cb - Lindsay (But stop playing that f*****g long diagonal ball you are not playing champions league football!!) Cb - Pearson (Tough choice still makes mistakes but always gives 100% unlike others) Lb - Fryers if fit (needs to book his ideas up but there is a decent player in there somewhere) Rw - Yiadom (looks dangerous flying forward but defensively poor, him and Mccarthy together on the right would give their left back a tough time guaranteed) Cm - Mallan (banging goals in left, right and centre for U23's but never given a chance to prove it in first team) Cm - Williams (but please go back to the Joe Williams that was here prior to the suspension, the 1 that gets stuck in and actually cares) Lw - Barnes (but again please go back to the player that was here before the Leeds game rather than the 1 that's vanished since) St - Bradshaw (would be a much better player with a strike partner. Can only do much on his own, and the only player that actually gave a f**k when Bolton got their third) St - Thiam (would give great support to Bradshaw as we have seen at Reading and Bolton but ffs spend all week in training on finishing) Tactics - in the words of Mike Bassett Barnsley will be playing 4 4 F*****G 2!! A high pressing game into the faces of the Derby players giving them no room to breathe rather than giving every team we play an hour on the ball to do as they please. Win, lose or draw all I ask for is 11 players to give 100%! Come on reds let's turn this around!!
Davies McDonald Lindsay Pinnock (if fit) if not Pearson McCarthy. Yiadom Barnes Williams Bird Brown Bradshaw. 3-5-2
To be fair the Davies/Potts goal kick combo is obviously an instruction from Hecky to isolate the usually shorter fullback. It would work if Davies could kick right and Potts was better in the air. I genuinely believe the reason Potts keeps playing is because stats somewhere say he wins the ball a lot.
Not sure why he's so resistant to going back to 4-4-2, this is the formation we played under Johnson and lost 9 in a row or summat.
I'm not entirely sure when he's back, but he certainly is a 100% effort type of player so hopefully it'll rub off on the others.
please god i hope yiadom never wears a red shirt again. ive said it before on here in the last few weeks, he is AWFUL. just watched the highlights from yesterday and he wasbat fault for 2 of their goals. i'll still drive him to swansea, this afternoon if he wants ...
The only argument anyone seems to give is he can't be any worse. Which seems like a strange motivation to potentiality damage the lads confidence. Wonder if Hecky is tempted in a almost well here you go this is what you wanted, kind of way.
