W Yer have kept saying this daft stuff for a long while now !!! What do we have then? Maurice has left - but when he was here as Chairman - did he just sit there and talk to himself? And what role does Patrick, James and Barry have or should I say had in the past?
Right up your Red street then. Having said that, to see the word "fiefdom" on this board has cheered me up no end. Not long till my Xmas "feast", after the winter "solstice". Goodwill to all men (and women and the multitude of muddled genders). My near Xmas message is - so far: We have a few turkeys - but McGeehan is so far the most trussed.
I agree the board should be truly ashamed. If only they'd had the foresight and courage to spend and squander about £600 million, we too could be sitting in 12th place and 7 points better off. I'm a big fan of our 'plan' but to be honest you've only to look down the road at S6 to truly appreciate how a successful business and football club is run.
As another club is run badly then it excuses our mistakes and we should be grateful. Thank you kind sir for the gruel.
No, it's not about how much we spend, it's about the so called "plan" and how it needs tweaking in order for us to compete and push on at this level. It's about the board being pro active in order to better the club, and achieve as much as we can.
Just look at the league table though and compare us to the majority of the clubs - just being in this league is achieving. We are punching above our weight big time.
I don't disagree with you there, which is all the more reason to be smart off the field. The "plan" is okay in principle, but it needs lots of tweaking, especially with us being in the Championship. Obviously it will be easier if this take over goes through. At the end of the day this is football, we all love our club, and we want to play at the highest level possible, otherwise what is the point?
I suppose we are all different. A young professional footballer or an aspiring manager wants to play at the highest level and achieve all the riches that come with it. For me though, its always been just about BFC. Ever since my Grandad took me to my first game I was hooked. Everything about it. The walk to the ground, the jumbo hotdog at half time, Clive Bakers gloves, grown men stood singing silly songs, oh and the football! I couldn't give a flying Christian Fuchs what division we are In as long as that beautiful church on Grove Street is still standing and opens its turnstyles for us every other week. From what I can see the current 'plan' has been implemented by Patrick Cryne to ensure the long term future of a club that he loves, and I will be eternally grateful to him for allowing future generations to experience the highs and lows of following our team, admittedly though the hot dog prices nowadays are an unwelcome chunk out of a youngsters pocket money and Adam Davies gloves are too modern.
