    Not read all this through, not even been on here in weeks but my thoughts are the same now as they were in the Summer.

    The 'system' is good. Very good in fact. The system has worked. However, that system only worked after 3/4 transfer windows & the emergency signings of Hammill/White & Long 2 years ago. The system requires a foundation & a rotation of players, not an overhaul which we've had so far this year. Now I understand lots of that was unavoidable (to a degree), however, we need to recognise that the likely impact of this calendar year is relegation in 2018. My only hope is that those in charge understand that too. It seems Hecky does with the tone of his interviews these last 6 months or so.

    If we do stay up, and I've said this since the Summer, then he's done an incredible job & the risk we took in starting from scratch has paid off and we will be stronger for it. Needs strong leadership, not a drastic change.

    I think it does need a massive change, the club is run like a non league outfit. I recently put a business colleague in touch with the club and embarrassingly the quality and grammar of the e mail they received from the club was shocking and amateur at best.

    the main problem is modern football and the way big money is affecting it,this is whats to blame and is what leaves clubs like barnsley having to work things out whilst trying to keep afloat and be competitive,if it wasnt shafting the game up like it is it would be laughable..unless someone with really deep pockets takes the club on then things arnt gonna change,if some with deep pockets did buy us then we only become part of the problem because someone further down the peckin' order would be miffed that we've somehow got money and they havnt.
    I didnt renew my season ticket this time,not because i'm sick of PC or the club,but because i'm sick of the way the games gone...i still look to see how barnsley have faired but other than that i dont give a flying **** about football anymore,
    give me rugby league anyday of the week,far more passionate and entertaining,

    I don't understand how anyone can hold any one person solely responsible for where we're at - whether we're doing well or not. However, if people are going to take that approach when we're struggling, surely they then have to credit them for times of success? Same issue I always had with Johnson. People were happy to crucify him, but then refused to give him any credit for our turnaround (Bristol City are currently 3rd in The Championship. btw)

    It does appear that Mr. Cryne's biggest critics are very vocal when we struggle, and very quiet when we've done well.

    Hourihane, Winnall, Scowen & Watkins all refused new contracts and insisted on moves. Pretty much nothing Mr. Cryne or anyone else could have done to stop any of those players leaving. Roberts was probably the one we could have done more to keep - and Cryne has publicly acknowledged that.

    A lot of people have understandably questioned where the the money has gone from recent sales and the Stones sell-on. I get that. We could $punk it all away on transfer fees, but is that going to guarantee us quality? It's also not going to change our wage structure. Signing a £5m player is hypothetical, because we wouldn't be able to pay the wages - and neither should we. So what do we do - buy ourselves 10 Alex Mowatts? Is that really the answer?

    Then you have the takeover situation. Which let's be reyt - none of us on here know **** all about. That said, would you continue to invest heavily in a Club that you were in negotiations to sell? Almost definitely not. Then there's his personal situation. Again, if you were literally a dying man, would you be thinking about sinking more money into the Club, or would you also be thinking about securing your families' futures?

    I don't agree with a lot of decisions taken by Cryne et al, but to accuse him of asset stripping the Club is putting him in the same category as the Oystons. Way out of line that, for me. One thing i'm personally absolutely sure of, is that the Cryne family care as much about BFC as any of us.

    Whether people like it or not - surviving in The Championship on our budget, with a constant recycling of players, is a brilliant achievement.

    He did not meet the criteria mentioned of signing players with at least 50 championship games under the belt , Jackson had no such experience whilst Mowatt did, my point is , that even with this experience it does not guarantee anything

    And mine is that there are no guarantees whether you have played 50 games or 5 minutes. Choosing footballers is not an exact science.

    The same bloke you're decrying as being responsible for all your woes.

    Edit: to be perfectly clear, Cryne isn't responsible for all our success, but he's laid the foundations that have allowed others to do excellent jobs. But if you're going to have a myopic view, then you have to accept that the opposite is also true.

    No, neither does he mention the run Johnson was on before he left (maybe he's still crap with City currently in 3rd?), or who appointed Hecky, or who changed the scouting system that brought in a whole host of players that have proven highly successful etc.
