Tall order and Cook should have been out for one but can they do it?

    Come on lads.

Think this'll be Cook's last series.

We may as well approach it like a one day game and just whack it. There's no way we can bat for 120 overs or so. May as well try and win it in 60.

No chance. 150 too many to chase down, Lyon will get 5 fer.

Still can't see a win, but they've shown some real backbone today. Well done England.

Aussies still 70/30 favourites for me but finally a bit of spirit, digging in, fighting hard with a few shots to boot.

I hope our squad make similar alterations to their approach against Derby.

Root stays in we win. First two sessions it will be flat again so I see us as favourites.

Real shame that the bowlers let us down on day 1, no way those were 442-8 conditions.

The Aussie coach said 250 was par and he was about right imo, which means we'd have been well on the way to victory now if we'd not let them get away in their first innings.

Good comeback yesterday and today but I still see us being 75-100 short. Hope to be totally wrong!

I think we will get to about 300 so will fall short by 54. Good effort after, like you say, poor bowling on day one.

If root gets to 3 figures, we have a very good chance.

I think we will crack once the second new ball is available, doubt it will last much beyond lunch tomorrow and we will lose the last 6 wickets forunder 100 runs leaving us at least 80 to 100 short

Reckon we will by 3 wickets just before tea, need Root to get a ton and Woakes to hang around for a while first thing to protect the left handers for as long as possible against Lyon. I’d get Bairstow in before Ali to nullify Lyon as much as possible and try to get close with the 3 right handers before Ali slogs a few to win it.

Went well. They're just better than us.
