    Blair spruiked a lot of goodwill away with his adherence rob thatcherism and Friedman. Did some ok things as did Thatcher but balanced against many pretty poor things.

    Life is worse now. Back then who with a job had to visit a food bank?

    Life was worse under Thatcher. Miners strike, Orgreave Hillsborough and 3 million plus unemployed.

    Those events happened under Callaghan but that’s a separate issue. The positive impact of joint the EEC hadn’t yet taken hold.
