Anyone else worried

I think given the service Bradshaw will score in this league. But we need another striker at least who can find the net or a midfielder to chip In with the goals. In the summer they wasn't many strikers who would better our team within our budget to chose from. We signed ugbo terrible. We tried for mcburnie fell through. Thiam I'm not writing off yet. Victor has been scoring in the 23s but will he get his chance? Who knows.

 

Don't get why people are going on about Bradshaw as if he's *****, 7 goals so far could be at 20 by end of the season if he had some service once in a while. I think he's solid.

Folk giving opinions on game by game performances weren`t wrong those that say they will never be any good at that time fairy snuff. Shouldn`t be bracketed together different animals.

He didn’t get it wrong about Hourihane.

When he first came he had to be carried by another two central midfielders. He didn’t have the nous or the workrate off the ball to play in a two. He did however have great technical ability, the best set piece provider we’ve had in a generation, and with an eye for goal. The raw ingredients were there. The problem was for all he scored and provided we were an accident waiting to happen off the ball. Best example, he bagged two against mk dons, he also might have taken the corner we scored our third from. Problem being we were 5-0 down before any of that happened, having been trod all over in the middle of the park for 80 plus minutes. Dele Alli one of their scorers I think.

He coached on impressively and improved immeasurably to become a pretty complete central midfield player. His goals actually reduced - but his overall contribution - and the team as a result - improved massively.

Potts tries hard but he has no obvious ability whatsoever. It’s hard to see him improving in a similar way through good coaching and him learning, as the raw ingredients don’t appear to be there. Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see him making the grade at this level.

You are missing my point , weather he is right or wrong is immaterial , Hourihane took stick both at Oakwell & on the keyboards & plenty of people did write him off , my point is, I know not every player comes good but exercising some patience when players step up levels is not an unreasonable request , but many of today"s fans expect the finished article straight away & this in its self can cause a player confidence issues

Exactly, plus when Hourihane and Winnall etc came in we were in League 1 where those players no matter if they weren't consistent could rely on being among the most talented players at that level to get Oi of trouble, in this league we don't have that luxury. I have no problem with giving time to the likes of McCarthy, Lindsay, McGeehan because you can see they have the ability to improve and they actually have something. Potts, Moncur, Pearson etc are all baffling me as to how anyone would think signing them would be a good idea.

 

It baffles me to think that people like you know more about football and can judge players better than a team of coaches who sees them play almost daily; proffesionals who have spent their whole working life in and around football players. They are young lads making a step up, have a bit if nounce and apply some patience.

It baffles me to think there's still happy clappers like you about who believe every coach out there must be an absolute footballing genius after the dross we've employed.

4 months down the line and if anything we've gone backwards. Patience is wearing thin.

 

They're not happy clappers at all. Just supportive of the club and players.

Everyone's aware of our shortcomings, but repeating them parrot fashion doesn't change anything.

 

It baffles me why you think you know more than Hecky , it also baffles me why anyone who disagrees with your opinion should be labeled as a happy clapper

 

Im a happy clapper because i think a proffesional football coach knows more about what makes a good footballer than someone on a forum. He also has far more information to go on due to being contracted to spend hours a week with them, compared to you who sees a snippet of 180 mins a week max? Some logic like. Unless you are Pep Guardiola you need to go give your head a shake.

Aye cos he's done a cracking job so far with those contracted hours per week of getting the best out of them hasn't he...

Hecky didn't sell or allow all our best players to leave. Neither did he decide that the current plan was the way forward.

He's doing the best with what he's given - that being some of the best young players from lower league clubs and a few inexperienced loanees. He said himself that some of them might not work out, so no surprise there.

Which manager has done better at this level since we came back up in 2006?

Apart from the odd half season or cup run - Mark Robins is the only one not to have a relegation scrap, and he is said to have walked away because he wasn't happy with the funds offered for the following season.

Ritchie, Davey, Hill, Flitcroft and Wilson all had a go at the Championship and came up short and all for the same reason we're struggling now. We've been at a financial disadvantage and have to be experiential in trying to bridge the gap.

If you haven't got patience, don't go. Simple as that really.
