I imagine that PC will get what he's owed and the rest will go into the business.

Would have thought that as PC owned the club. He got the lot.

Don't see anything else. Unless PC didn't own all the "shares"

Did it say at the press conference how much they paid for the 80 %
Would be very interested what amount they paid without the land /ground added.
20 million seems incredibly high to say the least but guess if that is correct that must include what’s left of the transfer monies with the add ons
It seems a odd time for a investment group to buy in bearing in mind the league position and all the high value(at this time) assets sold

I would suspect that was a once in a blue moon situation with the players that were sold last season as Red Rain alluded to if they are hoping to make money that way.

No, Conway addressed that specific question and categorically stated that they would not be going into the financial details.

One would assume so unless the consortium has already purchased its shareholdings in Oakwell Community Assets Limited.

Until recently, Barnsley FC (2002) Ltd share capital was 1 share, with a nominal value of £1. Earlier this year, the number of shares was increased to 1000, although they still had a nominal value of £1. When a company is sold, the new owner buys the shares from the old owner. The nominal value remains as it was, but the value of those shares is determined by the amount that the new owner is willing to pay. However, if the whole of the company was to be sold, the 1 old share would be worth exactly the same as the 1000 new shares. In other words, there was no point in creating all those new shares unless a complex ownership structure was envisaged. The question is still there to be answered. Why 1000 shares. We know that the Cryne family owns 200 shares because we know they retain 20% of the ownership, but we do not know who owns the other 80%. It does not make sense that they are all owned by Chien Lee's company, as all the others that are involved are not part of the Chien Lee organisation. I assume therefore that they have all bought shares in Barnsley FC either in their own names, or their companies names. All will become clear when the fillings start arriving at Companies House.

Why would it go into the business?

The money to 'buy' the club is to pay Patrick for 80% of his shares. Money they put into the business (or not) is nothing to do with the fee to purchase the shares

Surely they’ve just formed a newco with each individual investor subscribing to a lesser or greater degree.

I've no idea what the actual structure of the deal was and how much of it went directly to PC. It was just speculation on my part.
