Typical foreign coach, over complicating things. Wednesday have more than enough in that squad to be pushing for the top two. Oh well its only them.
This example is a sad indictment for modern football. There are lots of players like Rhodes (who played his best football a few years ago) and others who have failed to live up to their past and youthful potential. These players are getting paid about 50% more than their worth.
Club in crisis.... is the time right to plunder their better players for next to nowt. Let's start rattling a few cages, eh.
There are few things that would be funnier than if we were to "plunder" their players. It would be the ultimate humiliation. Don't think it will happen but my God it would be funny.
An Owls fan I used to work with reckons Chansiri is sick of the abuse he's been getting from fans. They need to be careful that they don't hack him off to the extent he pulls his money out and leaves them to it.
They seem to think Chansiri's a billionaire an all theres only two of those at a Yorkshire club, unfortunately for them they're both at Oakwell.
The Rhodes deal contained an obligation to buy as opposed to an option to buy. King Tuna gambled on SWFC going up and it simply didn’t happen.
Having observed the progress of the Fowls from a distance over the past couple of Seasons it seems apparent that Chansiri has backed the manager with funds and charged him with getting the Club into the Premiership at all costs. It sounds as though our aspirations are much lower viz: consolidate in the Championship first and then without doing anything "crazy" fund a tilt at the Premiership. At the takeover press conference, Mr Lee stated that they're in it long term so I personally think Hecky will be given the time to build a team capable of competing at the right end of the Championship.
I know a media guy involved with another Yorkshire team and he said the initial loan was £2m upfront. True that the obligation was in there. As SWFC didn’t get promotion they paid £4m extra on top of loan to take total up to £6m...if they went up and got promotion, Chansiri would’ve had to pay up another £7m to take the total price to £9m. Beforehand, I’d say £6m was a cracking bit of business but his form has apparently been woeful???
