Just been reading on their forum that some of them disrespected our minutes applause on boxing day by singing all way through it. I couldn't hear it myself and saw that most of them joined in with the applause, but if their own supporters mentioned it, it's a pretty shitty act.
Have you stopped to think that many would not have known what the applause was for? I know where I sit at least half a dozen or more around me did not know why people were clapping. If I had not seen it on here I also would not have known.
I thought on the whole they were very respectful. It is unlikely most of them knew what was happening or why, I imagine some joined in having realised that it must have been some form of tribute but not to who or why. Plenty round me didn’t know what was going off. Bloke behind me moaned at me for standing up to applaud, apologised afterwards. He wasn’t to know, social media doesn’t get to everyone.
The minutes applause is a popular thing at football grounds now. When the whole ground starts clapping and it doesn't coincide with something on the pitch, it's pretty clear what it is, even if you don't know what for. I didn't hear their fans singing for the applause, and noticed some of them joined in. Just going by what their own fans were saying on their forum yesterday.
