I don't think all of it is Hecky's fault. But some of his team selections, like not starting Mallan and Isgrove, and plenty of others, are just baffling at times. He does need some support this January. Hopefully Chien Lee will put some decent money for Hecky to do something with. He's clearly not an idiot.
I’m sorry but if you expect the results to change if we sack the manager you are on cloud nine. The results are only as good as the players, when we had better players we did better. I’d have thought it was simple enough.
Mallan hasn’t been anywhere near ready. He’s probably not recovered from his start on Boxing Day. Same for Isgrove
As predicted back in 01/17 - we would likely get this sort of garbage from fans that haven't 2 brain cells to rub together. If you want to blame anyone - then blame Patrick Cryne for not sorting out players contracts. And as posted back in 01/17 - I said then that Patrick was selling up. But response of 99% on here said - NO, we'll be all reight. Well where are these people now ??? And then to add to Heckys woes we had a poor summer transfer window when we didn't get the strikers in that were needed. I wouldn't swap Hecky for any manager in the football league !!!
Not sure why I'm bothering but here goes. Hecky is a good coach, as was LJ. He will be cut some slack because of where he is from but loyalty works both ways. You can't be slagging players off for showing no loyalty and then shouting for a change of manager when things aren't going well. Changing managers isn't the solution for a club like ours. There are only a handful of manager's out there who can guarantee success (and we won't ever be managed by any of them). Managers need time to influence a team. Every player that has been under Hecky and his staff have nothing but praise for them. Without exception the players all believe they have been made better from their time here. Despite the results in 2017 (esp. at home) we do have the nucleus of a good side being built. To see his influence as a coach you just need to look at the talent that has left this club in the last 5 years or so. Everyone of them passed through PH's hands at some point. People seem to see managers/coaches as having some sort of secret or magic for success. They don't. Coaching & managing is a fairly well document process. I suspect nearly all the managers in this league could look at our games and see where the problem lies.Swapping managers is just gambling and comes with a risk of debt and severe problems. Our problems lie in the fact that our gates aren't big enough to be playing at this level, but we are stuck with that. The only way forward for a club like Barnsley is to nurture raw young talent. It's my belief that we have one of the best people around to do that. The fact that he's a tarn lad is just a bonus.
Then you obviously know the answer to your OP and there was clearly no need to post it. Onwards with Hecky we will be ok this year
I must admit Hecky is young, at an early stage of his career as a coach, and learning his trade, he's gunna be making mistakes.Lets give him some slack, there's people on ere that r souring the team and if truth be told, its you f=====s that dont even go to the games.Your creating an atmosphere that we can do without. We've spent wisely and to put that into a wage structure that is probably the worst in Championship he's doing the best with wot hes got. If you want maradonnas f=== o== and support a team that can provide that service, at Oakwell we cant, but i for one will be at Sunderland win or loose.
To be fair Pompey Red I'm not sure what people think or why they think it. The post was mainly a Cathartic exercise for members of the forum. I get tired of the parochial biased posts regarding PH,As there needs to be a balanced analysis of the work he does. He is a very nice man and I don't have anything against him. The problem the takeover has done is create a unrealistic expectation around the club and its supporters. Supporters need to stop looking backwards and at the what if's and maybe's ; and look to the future.
not 100% sure but I was under the impression that a team can only start with just one player in the nets....
