Mr Cryne, I do not believe that we needed to recirculate (flog) players and "build from the bottom up" especially to competing clubs in the Championship. Mr Cryne YOU sold out the heart of this team last January after years of work from one hell of a lot of people. Just why did you do this, Sir?

It would have been destroyed come last summer anyway when they all moved for bigger pay packets and we would have been 6million worse off as they would have gone for nowt. Get over it.

Indeed, with the exception of Roberts, none of the players that left in January would have had any impact upon where we are this year.

Its an interesting question, which nobody seems to want to ask on here. But maybe we shouldnt be going over all this again.

    Two things:

    1) He dosent have enough money to sustain a championship club - which is no fault of his own - but why hang on 13 years before finding a buyer?

    2) Lack of foresight with players contracts.
How can you run any successful team - never mind a championship team - when all players contracts come up for renewal at the same time ???
    Ridiculous.

Destroyed is a bit strong... I'd be more inclined to ask why Ben Mansford didn't sign the players that left on longer than two year deals.

I think it took us all a bit by suprise how well we did up to January last year and by the that time we were left with players on 6 month deals that we had to get money for before they left.

The bigger issue I believe is poor reinvestment of the money we brought on from player sales which has left us in this predicament now.

The new consortium have got a big task on their hands keeping this club in the championship and investing better than we have done previously.

The current consequences of the last two transfer windows were entirely foreseeable. At least we have it within our gift now to try and partially rectify the situation by having a decent transfer window next month.

No. It was Patrick who saved us and James who used the spreadsheet to decide who to sign and sell.

That isn't serious by the way, I just thought James would feel more at home now he's officially part of the club if he got a bit of abuse. Wouldn't want him to feel like he's missing out.

Or looking at it another way, if we'd paid winnal and Connor what they were worth and re-signed them for a couple more seasons. We may well have covered the majority of that cost by not having to sign and pay their multiple inadequate replacements and having a possible pop at the play offs. And even if we didn't make the play offs, if we'd carried on in a similar vein of good form until the end if the season, we may have attracted a much better standard of player in the summer and increased the number of supporters willing to shell out exorbitant amounts of money for a season ticket.

We saw exactly the same type of thinking with Craig hignett and it's all a false economy, because when a special player comes along, you hold on to him.

So your new stance is to defend Hecky and have a pop at Cryne?

No need to have paid them what they were worth - because no one knew what they were worth in the Championship at the beginning of season 16/17.

What we could and should have done is reconstructed their contracts so they benefited if they were successful in the Championship.
But it seems - with what has been said by Hourihane - that nothing was mentioned.

The lack of foresight by the directors - to cover all eventualities - drove the club into a big crater.
That Hecky is now trying to get us out of.

Let's hope that the new owners can construct a better means of recruitment than what has previously been applied.
And I'm not just talking about money here.
But I'm not sure they can while Ganaye is at the club.
I'd be much more confident if Ben Mansford was in charge.

All a matter of opinions, but if we sign another 6 in January on top of the 16 in the summer, how much is that costing? If we ultimately go down, how much is that gonna cost?
