He’s not got 90 minutes in him yet. By taking him off at that stage he’ll be available for the Sunderland game. If today was his first 90 minutes I doubt he’d make Monday.

Lads like Bradshaw, Hammill etc who’s bodies are used to the busy Christmas programme are always more likely to get 90 minutes

I’m no fan of Ugbo but he was a couple of inches off of a winner today.

Hasn’t he scored 9 this season...

That would seem to support my argument!

Perhaps so. Not my style to criticise players overtly. I recognise his effort, and that for much of the season he's been asked to fulfill a role he's not particularly suited to...

I'm not sure that next season Bradshaw will end up in a league higher if we go down.

Perhaps not but I think the fact that he has scored as many as he has at championship level tells us that he is ‘championship standard’

Thiam looks clueless without the ball, lazy when the opposition has the ball and drastically unfit. I wouldn't say he was fat though, and he does look decent on the ball. Dunno what to make of him really. There's a player in there but certainly not 900k's worth.

He did but that doesn't mean he's ready for championship football. He's nowhere near IMHO but I hope he proves me wrong.

Thiam was stretching so he may have been cramping. This was just after they scored (I think).

I agree but at the same time when you’ve only got 3 strikers & one can’t do 90 minutes up to now then you have to use him

Maybe so but ugbo doesn't attack the ball in the entire S71 postcode area

I'd rather we played one of our young, developing players up front. I don't mean this to sound harsh but I don't think they could be any less capable at championship level.

Exactly. If Ike ugbo was on a 2 year contract signed from Northampton he wouldn't be on our bench. Because he's on loan from Chelsea he is.
I'd prefer if we played players based on ability and not which club they played under 23 football for a year ago

Spot on. He's simply not ready at this level. The development squad would be a more suitable level but as that isn't an option I would say that going back to his parent club so he can be re-loaned to a league one / two side would be better for him and his short term development.

Ugbo is a poor mans devante cole

Which is obviously harsh. He may come good but he is not up to championship football yet.

Can’t help but think giving Jacob brown the game time would be a much better strategy big short term and long term

I reckon Thiam will come good but he needs to lose some weight and doesn’t look fit enough. He was the best player on the pitch second half up until getting subbed

I can’t really comment because I’ve not seen anything of Brown & any other u23 strikers we have & to be fair Brown’s only just come back from a couple of months out injured
