Yes it is Davies fault he’s unable to attempt to claim a looping cross for 40 yards.

Crosses are going to come in in matches and he’s got to be ready to deal with them. This is not just today it’s a long standing problem he refuses to come and claim crosses.

 

Goal was a combination of players not quite doing there job properly. To blame Davies alone is just picking on a player to suit an agenda.

 

His kicking is atrocious too. That free kick Isgrove won in around the 85th minute that Davies kicked straight out at the wrong side of the pitch was enough for me and it actually made me leave the ground early. So basically it's his fault I missed the goal.

 

Just to rub salt in the wounds their goal comes from a inch perfect kick from the keeper.

 

Did he put the cross in ? Yes he is a wonderful goalkeeper is Manone , I remember him fondly for his efforts when he was with us, marvellous keeper

 

If you don’t think Mannone made a significant contribution to that goal then you don’t understand football.

Probably not a popular opinion, but why don't we give Townsend a go. He's seemingly been written off based on a handful of pre-season and a couple of cup games.

By all accounts he looked decent in the pre-season just gone so I'm not sure how he's got as bad a rep as he has. Davies has cost us points this season, so I can't see that Townsend would really cost us any more.

That being said, Hecky has spoke of a lack of competition to Davies so maybe he doesn't rate Townsend either.

 

I put myself in before Townsend. I haven’t played for a couple of years cos of a dodgy back and I’m better in 5 a side nets. I’d still be a better option than him.

 

Then why the hell is he on our bench if he is that bad?

 

Teams at our level cannot carry a championship standard back up. We never really have. Who was no2 to Baker? Or Steele? Or Watson ( until Lees) ‘‘twas ever thus.

 

But it's crazy isn't it. It 8s basically saying that if Davies gets injured we are going to play somebody who we have all decided isn't good enough although personally I thought Townsend performed well enough in pre season to deserve a second chance.

 

We missed a trick by not signing luke steele again.

 

Not quite, we're basically saying we'll use the emergency loan market if Davies is injured.

 

What about if he gets injured in the first minute of a game or is sent off? If hecky has written Townsend off as not good enough to play in the championship then how does he magically become good enough after kick off?

Whenever Steele was out of form or injured we used to bring back up in. Davies is lucky you can’t emergency loan.

Steele was also back up to Muller so that was 2 very good keepers we had.

Davies was back up up Turnbull.

It appears at the minute like Townsend is considered good enough for emergencies only and that isn’t right.

 

Maybe that's why Tom Bradshaw always wears gloves. Just in case

 

It's the two defenders that Kermorgant is in between that should be preventing the free header. Simple as that, really.

 

Particularly Fryers who, as the full back, should have been 'round the back' and therefore goal-side, absolute fundamental basics.
