........ would be a Gary Madine type of player - plus a spare.
Just watch how the wingers and Bradshaw game suddenly improved if we had a mobile tall striker that could add weight, hold the ball up and head the ball.

Interestingly enough my mate said exactly the same name in the car after today's match, it's a fair thought, and I'd have no problem with that type of player. Not necessarily prolific in terms of goalscoring but the attributes you list as well as being a bit of pain in the ar5e for defenders to tussle with.

Agree totally. We don't just need one but two target man type strikers, to cover for injuries. We need a physical presence up top badly. How we got to the end of the last window, plus the last Jan window too, without this beggars belief.

Let's hope whoever is actually recruiting, isn't narrow minded enough to just have the McBurnie option, but has several options to talk through with the coach.
Hecky said tonight, he wants a presence in the box to attack the ball when referring to Pinnocks goal.
We have not replaced Winnall or Hourihane, admittedly both difficult to do so, but good suitable replacements would be a good positive start to the window.

Obviously thinking like this is a problem for whoever is doing the recruitmentm we came out of last Jan with Armstrong and Bradshaw and had to use Watkins up top.

This lad Pinnock could be our next center forward.

When I said we needed 'spares' in the summer this produced a few snide remarks on here.
But every position needs to be covered by at least one spare.
Except goalkeepers which is better to have 3 keepers.
And importantly the 2 strikers - where many Championship teams run with 6 strikers - allowing the manager various options.
There are different opinions on how many strikers we have at Barnsley - but Hecky thinks we have only 3.

Having watched McBurnie on MOD tonight, it's extremely unlikely that Swansea will let him out
in January. Got involved quite a bit and headed the ball across for the equaliser plus Bony is out
injured so they will probably need McBurnie as cover.

Tammy Abraham came off injured too. There's absolutely no chance of McBurnie or Kevin Long for that matter coming to us for the foreseeable.

I'd like to see at least two strikers, a strong, proficient in the air and able to hold it up type and a finisher with pace - pace is something we are sadly lacking up front.

Gary Madine is a ******. Don’t want him associated with Barnsley FC.

Been saying this on my Twitter account since he got 2 against us, typically type of player we need up top

They (Swansea) have no other options up front at the minute but I'd be very surprised if they don't buy in January so McBurnie may well become available.

I agree. Furthermore I'm not convinced he's the answer to our problems.

Definitely need to sack ‘the plan’ off for January.

Agreed. If hes not with us within say 4 or 5 days. Sack it off completely.

Yiadom can be used for bait. If they are still interested.

It must be made clear though. Its done in the first week or all bets are off both ways on both players.

Weve been dicked about enough by swansea.

I would like the club to pull out all the stops out to try & change Yiadom"s mind , I doubt he will but he is certainly a big asset , its been well debated on here about who was at fault for Readings goal yesterday , but I am convinced that if Yiadom had not been hobbling around trying to run off his injury , he would have stopped the cross coming in , the last two home games has shown again what a good player he is

Fwiw I agree. He was my MotM at Fulham too.

I fear we may have seen his last game however if the injury keeps him out tomorrow.
