............ I hoped that I wouldn't have to post that.
But as some of the Barnsley fans are so foooking THICK then I suppose it's come as no surprise.

    LEST WE FORGET
This time last year Mr Paul Heckingbottom had a side beating all in front of it - a team that was just ONE point from the playoffs - and a team that had the wind in its sail - that if it had got into the playoffs then would probably have won it.

That's until Patrick Cryne put EIGHT players up for sale.

And yet we have THICK FOOOKERS on here that's forgotten all that.

Or. Those players refused contracts in the summer, wanting to see how it went. It went wonderfully and the contracts were still there to be signed. Every single one refused to sign, leaving the club in limbo.
Keep them, or lose the lot for nothing.
Ffs stop beating the club with the stick. The players held the stick and put it down.

That's no excuse...ability and effort are very different e.g...ha I'll has the ability but so far this year haven't shown any effort if I remember right the Newcastle home game last yr was a turning point Hamill and Hecky had a set too on the pitch ,Hecky won by dropping him to the bench for two months ...he hasn't been the same since
in the previous yr there is no doubt that we wouldn't have got promotion without him but I some times feel now that we would be better of with out him

We'd have been Better off offering snake , Conor and Robbo 20k a week each rather than trying to replace them with 3/4 inferior replacements . Easier said than done but Hecky did mention it at the time that when we sell a good player we have to buy 2/3 to replace them . Speculate to accumulate is a dirty word on here but sometimes it rings true .

We've had this conversation a thousand foooking times !!!!!!!!!
Patrick Cryne determined the players contracts and importantly how long the club would fulfill those contracts.
    NOT HECKY.
Our manager has had a potentially promotion winning team sold from under him.

And I foooking knew last January - but I was hoping it wouldn't happen - that I would have to be saying things like this at some point down the line.
    Really really pissed off !!!!!

I have heard it many times , but you cannot turn the clock back & yes , we have got to learn from mistakes but to keep dragging up the past whenever we lose a match is tedious & predictable but ultimately pointless , lets move on & look to the future

If we'd offered 20k plus contracts to Hourihane etc and by some chance they'd signed them and we'd not gone up. And our record by last january against the top teams in the league suggests we wouldn't have.....what state do you think we'd be in now?
Wage structure smashed, money pouring out of the club and almost certainly no takeover.
You deal with your version of reality. I'll stick to mine.

I think you are the one who is lacking in brain cells , you continually spout drivel & keep dragging up the past & I repeat what I said earlier , you are like a record with a stuck needle , & I would be grateful if you did not take an aggressive tone when replying to me , thankyou

What you are basically saying here is - Patrick Cryne didn't have enough money - so he had to sell.
That's fine - I have no problem with that.

What I do have a problem with tho - is that some people seem to have forgotten that it was no fault of Heckys.

And - it was then left to Hecky to find a totally new replacement squad.
Unbelievably - we are not talking about a pub team here - we are talking about a professional club having to find a totally new squad.
That in itself is a foooking joke.
Just compare that situation with other clubs - even lower league clubs.

And IMO he's done well with the money he has received.
But obviously the squad isn't as big as it should have been.
At the moment we have 2 fit wingers and 2 fit strikers ..... and we are supposed to be a Championship outfit.
All these circumstances would be laughable - if it wasn't that serious.

Then we have no argument. Cryne didn't have the money that some wanted to spend. The first generation of players was so successful we couldn't afford to keep them. So we had to regenerate which was always going to be a tough ask in it's first season and Hecky is having to cope with that.

I think we can all assume that the demise of last season's good team was nothing to do with Hecky. However the contracts that were supposedly turned down by the players were, we were given to believe, the result of a failure by a chief exec who was subsequently shown the door. But this itself poses a question... if the man at the top, PC, got rid of Linton Brown, for failing to "do his job" then what exactly was "his job"?
If PC was in charge of the plan then what did Brown have to do with contracts? If he failed, as we are maybe led to believe, to offer new contracts well in advance to players who everybody knew would leave he was doomed, but if he tried to offer larger contracts than "the plan" allowed he was also doomed.
One thing I have never understood was the so-called love-in between PC and Houriane. If as was obvious at the time PC was totally behind his captain then why was he not given the incentive to stay? I can't forget the way PC hugged him at Wembley after the successes there. Was that just for show knowing that there was a player who would make a lot of money for the club if sold. Hitler accused the German authorities of a stab in the back after the defeat in the first world war, I wonder how many stabs in the back have happened at Oakwell?
