    It looks like we are in a battle to sign Ryan till the end of the season with sheff u. I personally think it would be a good addition as I think his game as matured a little since leaving us.

    Glad to hear it. He's done even less since leaving us, than he did whilst with us (which takes some doing).

    I saw him for Liverpool and he looked pretty good. Better than he did with us. Not too sure how he’s done at Freiburg

    He only played 241 minutes (spread over 6 games playing a maximum of 66 minutes in one of the games). No goals, no assists.

    That's only the numbers of course, so I don't know what his impact was otherwise. But since he didn't play that much, his impact won't have been all that.

    110% no if there is a clause that forces him to play so many games. Prefer one of these lower league wingers that have been mentioned in these forums

    I think he went to Freiburg expecting to set the Budesliga on fire. He didn't, and came back with his tail between his legs. He is at that point in his career where his status as a 'future star' is now in danger of becoming a lower league 'what might have been' player. I think he is bright enough to realise that the rest of this season is make or break for him. He is not going to get in the Liverpool squad, so I think whoever he chooses will see some real performances. My opinion of course.

    Watched him a few times when Freiburg were on tv and he looked the same as he did with us beat a few players got into a good position then delivered a poor final ball. Often he would have a talking to from a team mate or the coaching staff when there was a break in play.

    Will he improve our squad? Yes
    Is he available? Yes
    Will he play every week? No

    As long as it’s understood unlike last season that we call the shots not Liverpool I’d be trying to get him in

    That's the problem, Liverpool do call the shots and have big financial penalties when you don't play him.

    If thats not negotiable we dont want him - If we can have him on our terms maybe but unless he has improved he is no better than we have already - I wouldnt want us to have to play him every week
