Before bad injuries and 2 yeas ago, surely if he was as amazing as reviews are from there he would still be there and wouldn’t have spent 2 years in the Spanish 2nd division. He may well be great and I hope he is but you can’t say he is championship level for sure until he has played for us
Has little relevance??? How do you work that one out? We are owned by a multi billionaire therefore we have much much much bigger spending power. If we don't use that power and get the funds to spend, it basically just means that our owner is being tight fisted.
This ^^^^^^^. Whilst I understand there is no need to indicate on roundabouts with traffic lights where you are stopped on the roundabout (this tends to be motorway roundabouts) this has crept into every roundabout where you play "guess my exit" with the numpties trundling round.
Get with it 10 million is nothing on the scale of size of the organization and job that needs doing. Ie save us from relegation fast plus have a good footing for the next season to build on. I'll give u a tip in my book a tight knit squad of 18 mixture of youth and experience on half decent wages is healthier than a squad of 35 on **** wages who cant wait ti run first chance they get
It doesn't matter who the owner is. All that matters is how much money is in the Barnsley FC Bank Account. A rich owner doesn't guarantee spending power. You're spending money that isn't yours and that we don't have. What part of that is so difficult to understand? It's a business not a computer game.
So why not sign a few players in instalments as and when it comes in? Not like we won't have had a significant amount upfront either is it
It doesn't matter how much money they've got. They said they would bring modest investment, and that's what they're doing.
But surely if he was as good as the fans claim he is then surely they would have kept him anyway even if he was injured/unfit
You're speculating. You don't actually know do you? Depending on what reports you read we've spent close to £5 million this Summer You're speculating as you don't actually know. We're actively looking for players. We're spending money. But you seem to think we have a god given right to be throwing millions around because of our owner when we're still Barnsley FC.
You are not getting the point , it does not matter how much personal wealth the owners/ directors have , its how much brass in the club coffers what counts , I bet you were good at monopoly , piece of cake spending other peoples brass
Incorrect. Look at Wolves, their billionaire owner is spending big money to not only get them in the PL but to try and be very competitive once there with the looks. That will increase income by god knows how much, not only with TV revenue etc but extra fans at games and more interest from around the world. The club will be worth much more than he's invested. Us on the other hand seem like we're gunna just sit on billions and decide mediocrity is all we want.
If thats the case, what gives with wolves and they're chinese billionaire? 9 points clear at the top and more or less gunna go up. I don't want us to follow that model but its working for them. Financial fair play? they've obviously engineered a workaround?
We are not sat on billions , when the accounts come out, you will be able to see the financial position of the club but rest assured, we are not sat on billions
Chien Lee is very rich. Chien Lee owns Barnsley F.C. Therefore if Chien Lee so wishes we can throw say 30k a week on players. Before Patrick Cryne wasn't so rich. Patrick Cryne owned Barnsley F.C. Therefore even if Patrick Cryne so wished it we simply couldn't afford to say throw say 30k a week on players. There I spelled it out for you. Mr.Lee could decide that £100,000 will available to his club this season. We'd still be a lot richer than before, it's just that our owner would be unwilling to use his spending power and unwilling to flex his financial muscles or whatever you wanna call it.
I've no idea on how they've worked around it, but it's more about their owner being willing to spend the money as oppose to our fans (a minority) demanding that our owner spend his own money.
