Met up with my Villa supporting brother in law after the match. He thought Villa were really good first half - putting quality balls into the box regularly etc. It was one of their best halves of the season.

He thought Barnsley came back strongly 2nd half and just lacked a bit of composure. I suppose that's what spending millions on players gets you.

He said Davies looked really poor, Moncur was good and Thiam and DMH made an impact as subs. He also said Cavare did a great job keeping Adomah quiet - which doesn't happen very often.

Interesting and mostly fair. First half though Cavare gave Adomah far too much space. I guess Hecky had a word at half time as he stuck much closer second half and Adomah had almost no influence

So much so that Bruce substituted him !
Thought Cavare was great, he was like a man possessed at times, especially second half.
He was playing in front of us and the determination on his face was scary !

Perfectly summed up, we appear to lack belief but most of all confidence in ourselves, the first 15 minutes killed the game

Was really impressed with Cavare, looked a really good player, and DMH looked promising, I think a few more sub appearances and he could really push for a start, Felt like we gave them too much space in midfield to pass it around and there was no real support from midfield for Moore and Bradshaw. Moore did everything he could with winning the headers but it meant nothing cause no one was there to pick up the second ball

Trouble is we are well over half the season gone and are rapidly running out of time for this team to gel and feel comfortable playing together. We can't score and confidence looks low. Without at least 4-5 quality players coming in and providing they all hit the ground running and grab two or three wins in Feb which we haven't done in any months so far then we will go down I fear

I thought he was excellent yesterday but I also think he will be disappointed with Villa"s third goal as he had a chance to put the ball in row Z , instead he played a short ball back towards our box which put us in trouble & although from that point we could have defended better , it ultimately ended up in the net , but overall he had a very good game

Got a good look at Cavare as we were sat by the corner flag. He's a beast of a bloke. Muscles on muscles. Looks a real athlete.

You were sitting not far from me in next section. Saw some people arguing with the police about stewards blocking views.
    Couldn't have agreed more.
