These young players many of whom are playing in the championship for the first time need the support of the fans I mean let's look at the facts they go away to one of the top teams in the league and play a new formation and we wonder why it takes them time to settle into the game we have that little experience in vital areas of the park that we can't even nominate a suitable captain get behind them looking back at all the changes to personnel I'm sure we would have settled for our current league position at the start of the season

It'd settle for our current league position at the end of the season. But we still have 18 games remaining.

Currently 3 points off bottom and 2 points above relegation - But with a reasonable-ish goal difference.

I agree, A lot are still very young and they must feel intimidated sometimes. Look at Potts for example, he played in front of an empty Blackpool stadium against teams like Barnet etc. (No offence to them) and a year later he's playing in front of 31,000+ at Villa Park. If we stay up (which I think we will) and have this squad with a few extras, I think we'll be a much better team next year after this years experience.

A lot keep saying this but I’m not convinced. Just because you play games at this level it doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be good enough for this level.

Some will make it, some won't. For those that do, this season will be an invaluable experience in their development, providing we stay up. If we don't, however - well I think that will be catastrophic for a huge variety of reasons.

Not all will but most of them played in League 2 now are i the Championship, massive difference not only in better opposition, but more intimidating places to play, next year will be the real test for this group

You’re not wrong on any count.

A lot seem to think that all is needed is time/games. As you )and Hecky) have said, we will be lucky to get 4 or 5 out of 10 good enough. Not many seem to want to admit this.

Who do we reckon are the 4 or 5 who'll make it out of this year's lot?

I'm going for Pinnock and Lindsay as certs, with various sized question marks hanging over the others. Of the summer signings I was most excited about McGeehan and Mallan from what I'd seen on YouTube. I've still got hopes that both of them will be integral players for us in the future.

The players I think will be successfully from our signings based on what we have seen so far.

    Pinnock Lindsay
Cavare and Isgrove if they can stay fit.

    McCarthy as a squad player.

    Probably

    Pinnock
    Isgrove
    Cavare

Struggling after that to be honest.

    Maybe

    Lindsey
    Mallan

    Rest nowhere near.

Think that is a little unfair on McCarthy. A young lad who has shown some potential let down by positional sense which you can coach into people rather than ability. I don’t see him as either good enough or nowhere near.

Maybe so but I’ve seen him do the same thing time and time again so will he ever be good enough for this level?

Without further development I’d say he is an ok squad player but not good enough to be a regular starter it depends if you define success as playing a part of being central to a team.
