Might just have made the bench in the Glavin era, or the Danny Wilson team ... still, he's as good as we've had recently
I'm sure Wilson would have found a way to fit him and Redfearn into the side. What an absolutely mouthwatering prospect that would have been!
Choosing a centre back pairing is incredibly difficult. Mine would probably be Paul Futcher and Arjan de Zeeuw, although that would mean leaving out such fantastic players as Gerry Taggart, Mal Shotton, Alfie Mawson, Mark Smith, Carl Tiler, Adie Moses, Marc Roberts, and a lad called John Stones. We really have been blessed with some true quality in that position over the years.
I loved Conor when he was ours but part of me wished he'd celebrated his goal like a mad man because the love in for him from some parts (especially on Twitter) is really embarrassing
I know where you're coming from. Fantastic player for us but he's gone now and never likely to return. The obsession with him needs to end. Let's move on.....the lad himself seems to have.
Conor turned to his goal provider with his arms out to say thank you. STS ran away from his fans to run half the length of the pitch to goad the fans of the club responsible for getting him his life changing contract. Huge difference between the two.
He did celebrate, but tbh I didn't mind it, all he did was point to whoever passed him the ball and hugged him in from of the Holte End. I was surprised at a lot of the Booing and jeering he got, He did seem a little fazed by it too when he was down near us. I can see why people were upset, but for me if he wasn't in our team we'd most likely not be where we are today, he had a big impact. Don't think he deserved to be jeered or booed. Fair play to him though cause he did applaud us when he walked off, and he didn't have to.
Conor jogged backwards pointing at the guy who gave him the assist. Sam ran the full length of the East Stand, away from his own fans, goading us.
I was in a minority who wasn't at all bothered by Winnall celebration. I just thought it was funny that the abuse had clearly got to him. He left for a better paid job and decided to celebrate a goal by goading the home fans. Hardly the character of pure evil some seem to think he is. Don't really care what Hourihane did either. Havimy seen his goal I think it probably should have been ruled out for offside villa player right in front of Davies. But how he chose to celebrate it is hardly relevant at all.
Have you seen the two celebrations or are you guessing? You are comparing somebody having half a shandy with somebody downing 20 jagerbombs
I believe he has fully moved on, I heard he said in a recent interview that something like he is now at a proper club which i find more offensive if true than his celebration. Same as all the players who have left that ship has sailed and I don't give much of a toss about them anymore. New heroes still to come. It would be nice if villa miss out in the playoffs this year and next year when Mr Lee splashes out and we finish above them . Proper club my arse.
I think like anything this whole thread proves how fickle football is. Villa fans thought he was ***** after a few games last season now he’s the best thing since sliced bread.
