Im extremely concerned about heck losing the plot
Its completely irrational to make changes to aback four that's been playing so well

You're right Tyrone but I'm more concerned we went into the game lacking enough experience in the squad and no "power house" in midfield.

And we've also gone from.been over manned in midfield to been short whilst our players are playing for other clubs

Over-manned with the same kind of player. Recruitment to fit a profile rather than a balanced squad

I worry too. Could be the 1 win in 14 but changing to five at the back when we have kept 4 clean sheets in 6 league games was a daft idea. As was loaning out two midfielders without anyone in place to replace them with, especially as one could have played yesterday.

Heckys hands were tied yesterday with suspensions and Gardner not been able to play least he gave it a go instead of going for a draw.

Maybe he’d been promised additional options....

    Odd.

Because before the kick off when the team was announced and formation assumed etc. It seemed to be met with universal approval.....

Could have been. But you get people in before you let them go.

Would any of the players who have gone out on loan have played in place of Gardner? I’m not sure they would have

He did have the option of yidam on one wing and hammill on other for 442 had he wished

But yiadom has.never played a game for us on the wing... I have criticised hecky this season but yesterday like I said at least he gave it a go. We need goals to win games we really struggle to score and this needs to change.

By a few of the people who have been slating Hecky saying we need to do this and that. Then when he does try something that these people have been asking for they still blame him.

I remember going to Preston away and Wavey Davey put kayode odejayi on the wing, THAT is what I call losing the plot.
Also, if he'd played 4-5-1 which is the usual away formation - please name the 5 midfielders he'd have played.

I'd be more concerned about the lack of quality and options in the squad. While hindsight tells us we may as well have stuck with the back 4 as we lost anyway, I find the fact that due to such a poor squad Hecky felt he had to do that much more worrying.

I was horrified yesterday when wed charged our back four.christ when those four are one form as they have been recently there can't be many better defences in the division. But bizarrely we changed it on Saturday

The squad isin the state its in because we've allowed our players to go out on loan. Another baffling decisions

I have to say, Id been calling for a 3 a while back, but given our progress with a flat back four with Pinnock, I would have been reluctant to change it, but who would have been the 4 or 5 in front of that? By the way, we shouldn't write off a back 3, I'm sure a lot was learned on Saturday in game we never expected to win anyway.

I actually thought the back 3 idea was a good one too

This thread is all about hindsight though, stop calling it ridiculous or losing the plot!

Hecky nailed it yet again when he said individuals did not do the job, the same at home to wolves where we got a bit of luck
