I guess it demonstrates that everyone is of one mind about Patrick. Wish I could be there on Saturday.
Those stats don’t tell the whole story do they The expression of sadness on the thread about Patrick is a stand-alone post unlikely to be replied to.
I guess on the Cryne thread people just left one message of condolence. A few threads were going at the same time.
Not everyone wants to post their respects on a notice board. I did, but it didn't sit well with me... not sure who's benefit it was for.
Number of views being more on Chris' makes sense as people will check the thread mutiple times throughout the day(s) for new transfer news and updates. In terms of replies, it's more useful to look at how many different people replied, rather than total number of replies.
Threads commemorating and commenting on the passing of Patrick had by my count 38,741 views so far and 343 replies.Thats by my count anyway.
Agreed I don't really like doing it because in a way it feels a little pointless. I think that's the wrong word and I mean no disrespect but I hope you know what I mean. Like people queuing up to sign a book saying RIP Diana. At the same time though I feel like maybe his family may see the posts or at least see the volume of them and that it may help them in some way. I know when I've had family members round it has helped to sit with others and talk about memories we had with them and it made me smile thinking of the good that person had done rather than thinking solely about the death. Everyone is different of course. My theory is that Patrick and Jean and James read or were well aware of posts on here about Patrick when he was alive so in theory there's a good chance they will see them after his passing so really the posts can be for them in a way.
