Its nearing the time that they will have to 'go a little crazy' if they have any aspirations to stay in this league. Very very poor January after all the hope of a new beginning. Sadly its the same old Barnsley, i pray I'm proved wrong in the next 5 days.
Wasn't you saying yesterday you wasn't bothered about manzala signing now you post straight after him not signing concerned! Hmm
nope, never said that, said hope he was as good as his youtube clips from the off as thats whats required
Very underwhelming January thus far, but I would argue that it shouldn’t have come to us relying on January in the first place. The sad reality is, we are very much strong contenders for relegation.
Hopefully 4/5 new players who will hit the ground running is vital before window shuts . Think the summer would be a better time to recruit foreign players so they get a pre season and time to bed in.
Hecky's interview from a while ago told you what was up - we'd arrived at the Jan window without targets identified. Not the new ownership's fault.
Very worried now, this isn't funny and typical Barnsley!.I expect the new owners to put some money in to keep us competitive or what's the point of the takeover by billionaires/millionaires. Do we think Manzala would have said the same if we were Wolves?
It doesn't have anything to do with the owners. By coming here there is a real possibility of playing in League One next year. I can imagine that players don't want to risk that. Especially players that are of Championship quality. That's why we're probably only going to get players that are currently playing at a lower level or are not getting much of any game time at a higher level club.
Though in a better position than Barnsley is at the moment. In Ligue 1 two teams relegate directly, one team gets a play-off chance to stay up. One team is far behind. And they've got 7 teams below them. 3 point away from the playoff place, rather than us being 3 points away from rock bottom.
The craziest thing they have done so far is not sign any proven quality to get us outta this ****. We don't want fifty grand a week players but its not beyond expectations that a club our size should be paying out ten grand a week like we actually did 17 years ago with dyer shipperley sheron and co.
I don't think it's quite as simple as that. I think survival or relegation depends on: - Whom we recruit in the next 5/6 days Whom our rivals recruit in the next 5/6 days Whether 3 of our rivals are crapper than we are in the rest of the season Whether we get any long term injuries Whether we get any red cards or other suspensions Whether the referees in our remaining games are crap (from our perspective) or not Whether our manager leaves for another club or not Whether any of our rivals sack their manager and win a few on the rebound Whether our rivals get any long term injuries Whether our rivals get any red cards or other suspensions Whether the referees in our rivals' remaining games are crap (from their perspective) or not Whether some or all of our players improve to the level they've already shown they can play at Whether we have a bit of luck or not Whether we pick up points in the forthcoming games against our near rivals Whether we sign 5 goalkeepers or not (or 5 orangutans) If everything remains the same for the rest of the season, we'll stay up. It's as simple as that.
You were supposed to! I was talking to a Dutch bloke last night (in German) so it was in my mind. How do you say "spot on" in Dutch?
