I know I'm splitting hairs but it's impossible for us to be in the bottom 3 on Saturday night, nor is it possible (in practical terms) on Tuesday night.
Yes ok, just looked at the fixtures, as good as though for me. Fook knows how we aren't there already given our results the last three months. Sooner rather than later without proper investment. Now isn't the time to bring more young uns in like this 20 year old from Bournemouth on loan if stories are to be believed. BFC need to get real and pay more realistic wages sadly for this level, get the required quality/experience in and the achieve survival the reassess the corner shop wage structure in the summer to push on again imho. Dose of reality needed by these new owners for me. They may have bought the club for next to nowt but that definitely doesn't mean it can be successful at this level paying the same to the playing staff.
Because the other teams are crapper than we are. I know what you're saying but we've not lost yet, and the window is not over yet. Believe!
A know, I'm trying but it's all so 'typical Barnsley' yet again. Nothing seems to have changed for me since the takeover.
Realistic championship standard loans with experience at least this transfer window to keep us up hopefully. The managers alluded to it in recent press interviews. Might still happen of course but I won't hold my breath
I know exactly what you mean, but I think we all need to give it more time. There's still 5 days left, despite others claiming 3. We've signed 3 players (nearly). We've got Gardner to come back in, and Williams to finish his suspension. It's Friday evening, go out and have some beer and forget about it. If we win tomorrow we will be 5 points clear of the bottom 3, only 2 behind the faltering Fowls and only 16 from the play-offs It's no use crying over milk that's not been spilt yet.
I think we'll bring in another two or three players (on top of the two already here) before the windows shut. Once that happens, I think Hecky will then sign his new contract. I don't think we'll be relegated at the end of the season. I hope I'm right. Just for a bit of balance
Not saying we don't need that I just didn't expect much to change quickly. January is a tough time to try and fix the squad. Are loans available would the players who are want to come to a relegation battle. The damage was done with the recruitment in the summer.
Being a bit of a tinker, I refuse to follow the standard 'rules' of every transfer window when it relates to Barnsley Football Club (not to be taken seriously). 1.We never sign anyone early enough 2.Anyone we do sign is **** 3.Anyone who signs for someone else is exactly who we needed. 4.We paid too much for said player 5.Everyone else pays the right amount 6.The club never keeps us updated by admitting or denying transfer rumours or gossip 7.If a transfer falls through, it's automatically the club's fault 8.The board is always wrong 9.Fans ALWAYS know best when it comes to transfers and are not allowed to be criticised Just being irreverent and flippant in light of this week's major news.
I'd like to see more signings but I'm not so sure it's a done deal that we're down if we don't sign anyone. A decent box to box midfielder imho would be enough. We'll see. Take it easy big lad.
10.Every player we sign is either too young and inexperienced, or too old and looking for a payday 11.Posters on here are really good judges of bad players they've never heard of and never seen play 12.Posters on here are really bad judges of good players they've never heard of and never seen play13.Undisclosed fees are not undisclosed at all, they will be posted on here within minutes of not being disclosed 14.The club don't begin to think about improving the squad until New Years Day, and even then they only realise it after reading it on here 15.The club should spend money it doesn't have on players that they cannot afford to pay 16.All other clubs sell their players for astronomical amounts even when they've only got a few minutes left on their contracts 17.All teams below us in the table are actually better than us and will improve even more by making astute signings in the window 18.None of the club's staff, including the owners, board, manager, coaching staff and players, are any good (except Whitey) 19.The club makes decisions which are designed to annoy and alienate all supporters 20.The club makes decisions which are designed to bring about relegation as soon as possible
21.All monies that board members are said to have in their own personal accounts automatically becomes available to the club to spend on whatever fans desire.
24. Because we are owned by millionaires/billionaires they are obviously only in it to sell off the land to build casinos.
25) Anyone who we sign from Scotland is crap as they've only played against "the likes of" Forfar and Arbroath.
