    I'm not one for being melodramatic but if Williams goes back (whilst acknowledging he's not a world beater), we're in a right state in terms of the playing squad. The necessary 4-5 players now becomes 5-6. Can we recall McGeehan if need be?

    Doesn't make it a good long term strategy does it though may have got us promoted once but how many times have recalls disrupted the squad

    Can’t see that tbh but not 100% .
    We have a good relationship with Everton and I can’t see them or us doing anything to scupper that imo

    I've just had a look and you're right. Looks like this one is right. I'm bitterly disappointed if this is the case, I think he's been our player of the season.

    Gardner has done very very well recently but we still need numbers. Our lack of signings and sending players out on loan has really baffled me this month.

    I dunno what to think after today, I've fell out with football after what we saw today. It's a cruel game.

    I cant disagree with that Mapp, but didnt we always know he/Williams was never going to sign for us long term beyond this season.
    I wish we could get out of this loan for the season mentality, because its just a stop-gap, it doesnt do us any favours beyond each season in question.

    Best player, consistently this season. We've missed him since he's been suspended.

    Amazes me some of the replies. If he was one of our players and so young, fans would be saying £10m this, £10m that. We are lucky to have him, one of the best loans we've ever had. I'd rather have him than not.

    I cant really disagree with that Terry Nutjob lol, but my point is that we were never going to get him long term were we. Despite what we allegedly offered Everton recently, and they turned down of course. If we do stay up this season then what do we all reckon could or should we offer to them, for Joe Williams ?.

    I don't think we have a chance of having him mate. I was pleased to see us make a bid, but lets be real, we paid £1m for Thiam. I agree though that we need to stop the need for loans, but by proxy having a strategy of trying to unearth hidden gems, will mean we need to have a batch of loanees that we can call upon to fill the void.
