According to Sky Sports News, Palace have had a bid of 8 million accepted for Hugill. His contract expires in the summer and has managed 10 goals this season. The world has gone mad if that is his value with a few months left to run. Surely that means Bradders is worth 10 million plus then?
Get the point regarding contract lengths but think Hugil is a much better all round player than Bradshaw unfortunately.
Disagree, think he looked strong and caused us more problems than anyone else, in what was a solid defensive display from us.
Sometimes I really wonder about you mate. You have a habit of saying the opposite of what I think on everything. He was probably the biggest handful of the season down at Oakwell and I'd love to have a player of his caliber with us.
I agree with Tyrone, he did absolutely jack **** at Oakwell, but that's probably taking away credit from our defence who were solid as a rock that day. 8 million for him is ludicrous and I'd snap their hands off if I were Preston
Might be an all round better player as he does have the height etc but 8 million is ludicrous. he has half a season on his deal and has 10 goals this season which is not bad at all but not amazing. We paid a rumoured 750k for Moore, and there is no way Hugill is over 10 times better than Moore
Bad choice of wording maybe. But there is no way Hugill is over 10 times the value of Moore. We seem to have massively overpaid for Thiam too from what I have seen of him. Not up to this league and no way is he a striker
yeah agree the price is crazy, was just picking up on the comparison with Bradshaw. And as others have pointed out it's not necessarily based on how many times better someone is than the other, which is quite subjective anyway - number of factors to be considered.
That's true, probably a poor comparison on my part I guess but no way should Hugill be worth 8 million in any way. Even if he had 4 years left on his deal I don't think he should be worth 8 million.
Hugill is attracting interest from Crystal Palace, a Premier League side that aren't doing too badly. Moore was of interest to us, and League One clubs. I think clubs tend to scout players before they make an offer. Also, Hugill has another eighteen months on his contract.
Crystal Palace have had a £8million offer for Preston striker Jordan Hugill accepted, according to The Sun. The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals for the Sky Bet Championship side this season and is out of contract at the end of the season. According to Sky Sports he is out of contract at the end of the season. I know scouting takes place etc. but in my opinion 8 million is massively over what he is worth, granted I am no football scout nor have I extensively seen this lad play but his goal scoring record is hardly prolific. He is 25 and never played above Championship and has a poor record in this league yes we all know the Jamie Vardy story but that is a one in a million occurance.) I just cant see where that valuation has come from, fair play to them for being able to get that from Palace but he is no way worth that for me.
Is he any better than Winnall? Makes you wonder why we got our pants pulled down on that one if Preston can get 8 mill out of Palace.
Goal scoring wise his record suggests not. He is much better at hold up play and that side of the game as he is a but unit but yeah we certainly got a bad deal last January with the Winnall one.
