Agreed, Hammill, in it for the love of the club, runs at people with the ball, scored some of the best goals I've seen since Bullock. #legend. Not even a debate imho.

It's a shame the BBS didn't exist when we signed the legendary Willy Ferry as Redarmychris could've posted a cryptic picture message of a gentleman's **** and a large boat.

    Quickly becoming my favourite poster.

Can't wait till David turns up again to ask me if I have a poster of a Willy and a Boat on my wall.

Willy Ferry. He came to Oakwell to service the vending machine and finished up getting a game....whilst waiting for the powdered milk to arrive.
    Legend.

The Fridge was probably the worst player I've ever seen at Oakwell. Even the other players used to rip the piss out of him.

Hi George, having being branded posh on here recently for a passing reference to getting a chemistry set for Christmas it's nice to know we have the, er, real deal in our midst - welcome on board!

The great thing is that when I think about it I like a good number of the current squad - Hammill's defo the heartbeat of the side for his history with us, Wembley screamers, and all round love for the club and it's also great to have Izzy back with us from those times. Of the new breed, I reckon Lindsay and Pinnock look thrilling prospects, Bradders has to be applauded for his tremendous work ethic, Yids is on his day the best player we have, and Mallan could grow into a very special footballer... and that's not touching upon the loanees and new lads, all of whom look potentially very sound acquisitions. I reckon with a bit of Hecky's Magic Dust (TM) the future could be pretty bright for us Reds!

    Yes.

Bradley Potts. I think he’s a splendid player. He’s a wonderfully talented footballer and I think he was chastised with some unfounded and unwarranted criticism from some sections of the oakwell faithful.

He has struggled at times and gets his feet mixed up but there is a truly wonderful footballer in there waiting to come out. He is a real box to box talent and is very strong, with a wonderful athletic physique.

He’s a real improvement on Josh Scowen who just wasn’t up to it. Far too small with a small frame and not fast enough over a 50 yard sprint.

    What’s a turd polish?

    George.

I had thought it was an expression which meant turning something of poor quality (like Brad Potts) into something of much higher quality (such as Darren Foreman). But I met a man in a bar last night, who was absolutely sure that it is something that sometimes happens when men are out foraging in the woods.

You are mistaking favourite player for best players. I’ve seen Glavin, Redfearn, Hignett, Ward, Aylott, McCarthy, Currie. My favourite player ? Brendan O’Connell. Favourite has nowt to do with ability.

Andy Rammell, Steve Cooper, Darren Sheridan, Owen Archdeacon - all players of unremarkable ability, who are easily up there with my favourites ever to pull on the shirt.
