they go to home games as well usually sit in the ponte a certain section sit near the front refuse to sit down despite the fact they can hardly stand up cause they've had a sniff of beer and the stewards refuse to get involved despite the ofter racist nature of their behaviour and the fact you end up with nearly the entire section behind them having to stand up to see the match. When I approached the stewards supervisor to ask her why they allowed that behaviour but will happily empty a kids can of pop on the floor she said it's because they won't sit down anyway even if we tell them to so now you know at Oakwell pissed up morons refusing to sit down and being racist and generally obnoxious are allowed kids having a drink of pop they've taken with them to Oakwell jumped on from a great height.
I went on Saturday. £38 for walk up = rip off. I sat on the left side of the nets as we were looking at them. No bother anywhere near me .There was plenty of room over on that side. Very narrow on the concourse behind the goals, what it would be like when full I hate to think.
This smoking thing in the toilets in my experience is something that is peculiar to football. I smoke but can easily last a match without smoking. However at the cricket, watching yorkshire and england (where you are there much longer) one can take oneself to the back of the stands to the outer walls of the stadiums and smoke unmolested by stewards, police and those that don't smoke. I would guess that still being in the confines of the ground then this would be illegal but no-one batters an eye. Football crowds appear to be so much more confrontational. On this thread there are real and legitimate complaints about anti-social behaviours at football, aggression and hostility being the order of the day by far too many at away matches.
What's equally annoying is the 'sit darn' brigade. The ones who absolutley refuse to sing or create any atmosphere unless we are winning and that only lasts for about 5 minutes usually.
I go to lav on entering or exiting the ground usually, and stay seated the rest of the time. At the end of the game the amount of empty drugs bags on the floor is astonishing, not in the cubicles but out by the sinks and urinals, they must be at it in open view.
Tell you what I haven't noticed this season or last. The large group of early teenage hooligan wannabes. Saw them quite a lot in league one, but I suppose football was far cheaper for them and there seemed more local games. When we lost 5 0 at Huddersfield, police had them all in an escort taking them back to the station. Some of the kids looked about 10 and scared to death, hiding behind the gobby ones at the front. Coppers should have made them pair up and hold hands
