I was expecting to see the George Harrison video. I remember the Barnard goal like it was yesterday but the rest of the game is a bit hazy now.
Martin Bullock eh, dribbling genius - until he crossed the 18 yard box line and fell to pieces nearly every time.
Imagine that. Little Barnsley making the mighty Spurs look so bad! Would love to read what their fans forum was saying that night. Bet there were a few Christian Gross OUT posts
Its funny but Barnard's goal is the only thing I remember from the night looking at it from behind sat in the East Stand Lower, amazing strike.
Can't remember that, but you could be right... it was a long time ago and my memory is a bit selective, to say the least. I do recall seeing Spurs fans crying during a game, but that could have been when we took the lead in the league match and they thought they were going down. Bloody softies....
When we was fab, and I could go out for a Saturday all nighter followed by a Sunday beer sesh and still roll into work on Monday morning. Got as far as the Saturday all nighter this weekend. Sunday was spent moving between sofa and bed, and today has been horrendous, despite not having to start properly until 1pm.
the best Darren Barnard goal ever has to be that volley from a Nicki Eaden cross Vs Huddersfield when we put 7 past them. To this day I say that Hudds did not play badly but it just seemed that everything we touched turned to gold... what an amazing night that was.
Yes, I remember it well. My German step daughter, aged 10, was living in Millhouse Green at the time. When she found out that Jürgen Klinsmann was in Barnsley hospital, she pestered our lives out to take her to see him. Never slept that night, what a fantastic night.
