Favourite? Really? Good, him and his brother are my choice, assuming they’re going to shop in the bargain bin as usual, they’ve done brilliantly at Lincoln. Some of the names mentioned might be ‘better’ in theory but I don’t see them splashing out massively on a ‘name’. Danny and Nicky Cowley would be my choice if looking to the lower leagues.
Both brothers were PE teachers in Essex and came to Lincoln to try to boost City's fortunes after other "bigger" managers failed. They are very highly regarded in Lincoln but whether they could do a job at Barnsley is open to question. I simply do not know the answer. Obviously they would come as a pair I would think.
Would be a great choice. Just not sure it's fair to dump them in the current mess. Needs must. I wouldn't mind a professional relegation avoider (where's Mel Machin when you need him?!) then review the situation in the summer. It would also let him finish the season with Lincoln, which is a reasonable and sporting thing to do.
He's my old PE teacher (in Essex). I would love for him to be the Barnsley manager. He actually watched me play football the other day!
They sound like a pound shop HillCroft to me, massive lack of ambition if we lump for the ex PE teacher.
We'll see what the new owners are made of with their first big decision. Personally l don't think they'll go anywhere near that league.
If he steps up and makes the grade his sell on value will be pretty high, and that’s what the club his bothered about, league positions mean nothing to them.
