His odds have shortened over the last couple of hours, have the club shop enough umbrellas for him or has he been practicing his Barnsley accent?
We simply cannot appoint that fool. Failed everywhere he’s been in English Football and only had an ounce of success at FC Twente.
Very much doubt we would pay the sort of wage he would expect. Interesting though as by all accounts he is a great coach, which fits our model
He wouldn't be my choice but to call him a fool is a bit out of order. He took Middlesboro into Europe and won the Dutch league.Having said that I'd employ him to hear his press conference in a Barnsley accent.
Could probably do worse, to be honest. And we probably will. His record is decent actually, considering how his replacements at various clubs have fared. It was the England job that ruined him (again, successors didn't do much better...) Couldn't see him coming to us, anyway.
He’s been fired more times than Rambo’s machine gun. I’ll back any manager who comes in but I think he’d be a poor choice.
Virtually every manager that we’re linked with has been fired numerous times, hence being linked with us. I’m not a fan of his either but I think sometimes his accomplishments are overlooked because of his torrid time with England.
I'd be pretty happy with him. Only, there's no way we'd be prepared to pay his wages and he'd probably want a transfer kitty to play with. He'd probably show a bit of ambition. Scary word down Oakwell, 'ambition'.
I would love us to get a big name manager like mclaren it would up our image and exposure, an ex England manager at oakwell and he has managed at some big clubs and had success. Can't see it but never know.
Mclaren when he was at Manchester had a very good reputation coaching the young uns..not quite sure but i think he also had a very good win ratio too but dont quote me on it . whilst my first choice would be big Mick however id happily take the so called wally with the brolly ... if only just so we can all start singing if we were to win and the weather was well er...we're winning in the rain what a glorious feeling we are happy again lol I also reckon hes some what classed as high profile having England manager on his CV and would raise the clubs profile to some extent.
The Wendies kicked up a right storm when he was touted for their job. They were wrong, in my opinion. The pale imitation of 'The Ferret' (God rest his soul) from the Chronicle that they've got now will bore them into League One. Dutch Steve is a Yorkshireman, and I think he'd get us out of the brown stuff. Take him on till season's end and see how it goes.
Haha spot on, a vastly experienced manager and some people would prefer a bloke from conference!! Absolutely bizarre
