This is the segregation between Villa and Birmingham fans yesterday whilst we have thousands of seats unused because SYP think it’s too dangerous to have fans within 50 yards of each other.
Ridiculous. One of the things I hope the new owners demonstrate is some balls in dealing with SYP as far as it's legally possible.
It is but it's the council representative who has been more forceful with the ''recommendation" than the police. Safety certificate for the ground which is issued by Barnsley council
I had a chat with the club's stadium manager (I think that's his job title) and he explained that the council representative on the safety board thing is a bit nervous and cautious and doesn't want to take any risks
I'm all for safety but, if there's a problem why was permission given for us to build the north stand in the first place and why were we allowed safety certificates when the ground was full in the premiership? What's changed? If I were the club I'd be wanting the council to make a public statement to justify their position. If it stands scrutiny, fair enough.
It was great on the train before the match on Saturday - Leeds, Barnsley, Sheff Utd and Wednesday fans altogether- someone wasn't thinking straight
How strange. With them part owning Oakwell, I don't see how it's in their interests to be the reason we have thousands of empty seats. You'd think they would want as many as possible sold to make more money and for a better atmosphere.
