A point to debate - they aren’t necessarily looking for a return on their investment in BFC; it’s a gateway to much bigger investment in the area and therefore much bigger returns. In addition - a return on investment isn’t the only game in town, there is also the matter of Chinese Soft Power. I don’t see the Wolves owner or the Villa owner making returns, why should ours be any different?
My reasoning is based upon what I see so far, and I see no sign of any other investment. My post argues that there are no profits to be made in the Championship. That might be different in the Premiership. The owners of Villa and Wolves will be looking to test that theory and have invested in order to make that test possible. On the other hand, our new owners appear to be following THE PLAN as laid down by the previous owner. They do not seem to want to invest heavily and I suspect that our last manager came to the same conclusion. Now that is their choice, and being our owner, they have a right to that choice of investment strategies, but it strikes me that many of our fans were expecting a change in strategy, and I wonder what the reaction will be if they do indeed decide to retain THE PLAN.
I have no problem understanding that Red Rain is expressing opinions not facts. I think the "stating opinions as fact" people are the ones doing just that!
It depends - if we can win the 6 pointers against Burton Hull Birmingham and Bolton and scrape a few draws elsewhere I think 45 points will do it - but if we get beaten by Hull and Birmingham we are in real trouble and would somehow need to get closer to 50 points for safety. Next 3 games are massive and we need at least 7 points from them - but I expect us to get 3 or 4 which will not be enough
