Thanks for posting this. I'm off work today so me and my lad are going. Seven players who've featured in the first team plus first chance to have a look at Knasmuller. Not bad for nowt on a grim February afternoon.
That looks like a very good side on paper. There's no doubt we've got plenty of talent in the club. The only problem seems to be getting the best eleven out on the pitch consistently.
Hmm, Mason Holgate in their side as well. If I wasn't working later today I might have been tempted to travel to watch the match. It's probably too late to affect our standings in the cup group but it will be an interesting match anyway. Reminds me of the old Central League days when we used to play the likes of Everton, Man Utd and Liverpool reserves every season.
Not been a bad game, they seem to be coasting a bit. Mamadou's poor and not offering a threat (watch him score 3), it defence is good and Ben Williams continues to get better. It's a big crowd by the way and I've also seen the brilliant Andy White.
They have just missed a penalty. They look a lot better this half. Our midfield is weak and so is our attack.I think they are going to give Thiam the whole 90mins.
Are these useless long balls lofted forward part of the tactics of every team at the club nowadays? Feels like everybody must spend a half day each week practicing them.
Not great, is it, considering that most of these players are in our first team squad. Very little quality as far as I could see.
Final score. 0-1 Potts didn't look bothered (and I'm one who has supported him). Saw plenty of the ball though. Knassmulner - bit off the pace. Thiam. Ditto. Took a knock and got involved in some argy bargy. When he was presented to crowd back in Summer, he looked in pretty good nick, body wise. Now he looks similar to me. Game time is not improving his fitness. Back row played alright. Mallen probably shaded MoM
you are kidding right theyve just been shown up by Everton u23 absolutely dreadful second half from players who should be fighting for first team places all I can say is the spreadsheet developed a serious glitch after its first successful run because we've some seriously poor footballers at Barnsley FC on that showing.
I only saw the 2nd half, but with a few exceptions it was pretty poor. Felt very sorry for Thiam and Knasmullner as the service to them was just awful. Plenty of kick and rush - long high and hopefully balls to chase with next to nothing in to feet. Mallan was in the main too deep, Potts was decent saw plenty of the ball and didnt give it away but lacked any real support in midfield. Just didn't have the players to play 4-4-2.
Only saw the second half, and I have to say on that evidence, none of those are going to get the first team out of the ****
