Sorry for this but I had to reply, with Heckys know your role way of playing and the only forward outlet being Bradshaw as ugbo wasn't ready and Thiam wasn't fit all our creative players were stifled and had to compensate for not having an out ball as Bradshaw is simply not big, strong or quick enough to take the pressure off. The sooner Bradshaw is dropped the sooner we can start playing again. Bradshaw was not the only problem but a big part of it.
Agreed, he really looks poor with the ball at his feet outside the box, no vision, no control, no pace.
It's not stick. It's people pointing out his obvious shortcomings. To compare with Thiam and Ugbo is unfair in my opinion, because neither have been afforded anything like as much game time as Bradshaw. Bradshaw has been here long enough now for us all to see that he can only score from very close range. He hasn't got the pace to run away from a defender, doesn't look confident to take on anything from distance and isn't a natural header of the ball.
JMs main job at his last stint at Chelsea was analysing the opposition. Hoping if anybody can pick apart a physical side like Burton with their backs against the wall, it'll be our new man.
You say its not stick , read your last paragraph . I think when we play a pressing game , Bradshaw is the best by a distance ( obviously before McBurnie arrived ) & I feel sure if the ball was played to his feet , it would stick a lot more but the crux of the matter is, he is not a target man , he needs to play off someone & its not his fault he has been played 90% of the time in that loan role . Regarding Thiam & Ugbo , the reason they have not had as much game time is quite simple , neither of them are good enough
I am not saying he is a world beater but the stick he gets is over the top , he is a small forward who as spent most of the season up top on his own, usually shackled by two lumps at the back from the opposition , he gets little support from our midfield who seem to struggle to support whoever plays up front & I repeat what I said , without his goals we would be in a lot worse position , surely tactically he has not been helped
It's not stick. I don't rate him, and I'm giving you the reasons why. If I was giving him stick, I'd just say "he's ****" without qualifying my remarks. You talk about him being played on his own, but the rest of the team doesn't pass the ball to him and watch from the half way line. You can't use the excuse "he's not a target man" for him not being able to stand up to challenges, not being able to shoot and spending so much time on the deck, besides, we've never used him as a target man. Apart from the Derby cup game, I've seen every minute he's played since he signed, and my opinion is he's poor, other than running around and the odd goal from close range. He's had some great chances that people seem to overlook. When we lost Wednesday last season, he missed two free headers. Had a great chance for a header at QPR last week, and at Sunderland, and that's just off the top of my head. Bang average in my opinion, that's not stick.
Of course its not stick , pulling the lad down on all most every part of his game is very complimentary . I love this " odd goal from close range " bit , who else this season has done that ? Thats what is game is all about , being in the box , not playing a lone role , he needs to play off someone
Why would I be complementary? I don't rate him as a player. I haven't said anything nasty about him. This is a forum where people express opinions it's it? What do you expect me to do? Lie to make others feel better?
I’d argue it’s not unfair. Ugbo is a boy playing a mans game and Thiam is unfit or disinterested. Both are poor and no help to us right now, For all of Bradshaws faults he’s a goal threat as he gets in the box, Thiam does not.
You can say what you like for me , its a forum but I do not have to agree with you though, or would you like me to lie to make you feel better ?
Because you've obviously got a problem with anyone not sharing your love for Bradshaw. I'm not asking you to agree with me. I'm asking you to respect that I have a different opinion without accusing me of giving him stick. I've given my reasons why I don't favour him.
Yes you are probably right , I would think that McBurnie will get the nod, but like everyone else we will be keenly awaiting the team sheet on tuesday , that initially would give us an idea of which system our new coach is going to try & employ
I have not got a love for Bradshaw at all , I like debate & I think the lads what he is, he is no world beater & has faults but I feel he gets singled out more than a lot of the other players & in a very average side I find that a tad unfair . I do respect your opinion but by the same reasoning I do not have to agree with it
Bradshaw has been the "best" of a bad bunch this season. That's about all you can say really. Hopefully Moore and OBrien will push him for his spot.
I hope Jose sees quickly what most of us already know that Bradshaw is restricting others playing and it's like playing with 10 men at times otherwise it will be too late and jeopardise any chance of staying up. He may get us a goal coming on as a sub in the last 10 minutes but let's give it a go a different way and Bradshaw can't play in any other system than 2 up top but there are other options even then as in a no 10.
But he doesn't get singled out any more than anyone else. Pott's, Davies, Moncur, Thiam, Ugbo, Fryers even Yiadom! Have all been questioned and probably one or two more. If someone elaborates on their reason for having an opinion on a players performance, then that's fair comment to me. I might not agree, but I respect their view.
