    What does he need to do to actually play?

    From what I see he is a decent player and definitely better than Potts and Moncur

    Assuming he must have picked up a knock in training. Can't fathom why he's not in the match day squad otherwise.

    Probably because he’s offered nothing on or off the ball. His only contributions have been from set plays.
