If you think it's that easy to beat a Championship team - plug in your computer from somewhere abroad and they'll perform some kind of analysis that wins you today's game, then I do not buy that.. Try telling this to Neil Warnock. Guess what his response might be.
How did you get all the clarification requests from this OP? Pretty clear what you are saying I think. We will soon have a new performance analyst from overseas.
PH was provided with information by our then performance analyst. JM has today been provided with information by someone who was retained by the club to provide such analysis of the opposition. You clearly don’t appreciate how a performance analyst works. What has Warnock got to do with anything? Are you saying that Cardiff or any of his other former clubs didn’t engage the services of a performance analyst?
You do realise Cardiff have a performance analysis team don’t you? As do probably every professional football club.
OK -we use a "performance analyst". Whilst Hecky was here what value do you think that a "performance analyst" supplied that made the difference? To us being in the bottom 3. We have performance analysists telling us who to buy ffs according to some plan. That will soon be on the bonfire. My reference to Neil Warnock was - do you think he's a manager who knows what it takes to get a club up this league - or does he wait for his "performance analysis" to help him out?
I don't object to our employing one. My gripe is firstly giving credit to one for our win today, and thus over emphasising their worth thereby. Cos it has not worked for us. If used to recruit.
Actually, I can answer this. He does use the information quite a bit. Although he has been around this league long enough to know most, he still relies on it for unknown players and currents systems used. Also advice on set-pieces and link-up play. Pretty much all league teams in the U.K. have one. I’ve just finished listening to his autobiography where he does make occasional references to the information provided.
You do realise that we along with the vast majority of professional clubs have utilised the services of full time, part time or unpaid performance analysts for years? PH didn’t suddenly introduce it. You could do with actually Googling what the role entails because you’re miles off on this thread. The whole Warnock argument is bonkers.
I can live with "quite a bit". They all need quite a bit. Does he explain how he gets that bit further?
Same as whats been said above, he probably has a performance analyst same as every other professional club. Its certainly not the be all and end all but its obviously a big part of modern football
Where have I said we won today because of him? It has worked. We saw some of the best players in years because of it and sold them for big money. We also won twice at Wembley making memories that will never be forgotten. What a ridiculous post. As I said, you should probably come off this thread.
I'm not a Luddite here. But this is a game about humans let loose on grass. We thought we'd found our own way of getting ahead with the use of science. Not looking foolproof at the moment though.
Like Wenger, Ferguson, Pep & Jose - experience and being very good at your job gets you that bit further. But the basics of knowing your opposition are old school. I suppose the role would have simply been known as a ‘Scout’ years ago. You send a scout out to watch and make notes on your next opposition. Probably the name change which makes it sound more flash. TBF though, the reports are more in-depth these days.
