Thinking about this last night. What about writing off our sell on % for Mawson in exchange for Ollie..?
Then persuade him to play for nowt, cos we're so lovely...:)

And even that is no guarantee - we have had a few players who impressed on loan then disappointed when we signed them
Lumsden , Nardiello and Da Silva spring to mind for starters

Why would they sell him? They will have their 'proven' Championship striker that they'll need next season.

A lot depends in what division our respective clubs are in next season , both teams are involved in a relegation scrap & next seasons squads will depend on where they are playing their football

Not sure they can sell him - isnt he out of contract this summer - so unless they agree a new contract with him I think he can go to the highest bidder. Or would it go to a tribuneral due to his age if they offer him an extension

Before joining us had hadn't scored in his first 17 league games in the top two divisions. Now he's got 3 in 20. If that record costs you the figures you estimate, football is more screwed than first thought.

If Swansea are relegated then they will probably ship out one or two of their higher earners (and cash in on Alfie) so the chances are they will look at his double figures return for us (I reckon he could end up with a dozen at least by May) and decide he is not for sale.

It's not often we have a forward who should have scored four in the first half. His one on one miss was a shocker and the penalty should have been blasted high into the net to give the keeper no chance. Imagine if all had gone in - the ground might have emptied at half time :)

Football IS screwed more than anybody could have thought.
I reckon you can put his price tag at 1 million per goal.

I seem to be missing one game as I only see 16 games in the PL or Championship on his record before joining us. But those stats are just as misleading as looking at the 3 goals in 4 for us.

In 16/17 he had 5 appearances, for a total of 76 minutes. That's not even a full game.
In 17/18 he had 11 appearances, for a total of 269 minutes. That's about 3 full games.

So rather than not scoring in 17 games, he effectively didn't score in 4 games. Which doesn't sound quite as bad. And that was with a struggling Premier League team as well, so I can imagine that opportunities weren't all that many to begin with.

Bit harsh on Nads. Scored the pen at Walsall that took us into the playoffs, and against Huddersfield in semi and equalised in playoff final v Swansea

Also remember him scoring 2 at Southend to help keep us up the following season.

They were big goals that had a big say in which league we would be in the following season.

I would imagine Ollie will be on around 2/3 k a week which is a good wage for a development player. If he's out of contract in the summer an offer of around 1million would be enough for it not to go to a tribunal. If Swansea are relegated and we stay up he might fancy the chance of moving back up north.
