Think you are being a bit harsh with the lad , he works very hard for the team & contributes in ways that are not recorded as stats
Is it ok for Moore to work hard but offer no goal threat but if Bradshaw does that he gets slated? Asking for a friend.
Difference is Moore works hard and despite not scoring still has an impact on games. Bradshaw just works hard.
I think Moore is a better bet than Bradshaw, and he's linking up well with Mcburnie. But he's got a grand total of one assist and one goal (and that hit him from Pinnillos long range shot) since he signed. If Bradshaw had that record then he would have been hammered on here by everyone. Bradshaw was isolated on his own for most of the season, Moore has McBurnie and Thiam either side of him in an attacing front three.
Fair point, but i think most can see he affects games more than bradshaw did because he's stronger, faster and better the air.
Maybe we should give the front three time to get used to the system and each other before we go hunting for negatives.
I’ve probably not seen enough of him to judge fully however... He doesn’t seem to a big goal threat but he’s linking up well with McBurnie and Oli is currently producing the goods. Would swapping Moore out for Bradshaw see a dip in McBurnie’s form? Probably not because he’s class but at the minute I think the front 3 that started against Hull is our main front 3.
You are probably right but I think there is still plenty of game time for Bradshaw who I think could flourish under the system we now play , for most of the season he has been playing the loan role with little or no support which is not suited to him , the past has proven Bradshaw to be a goal scorer & I feel sure the goals will return , he certainly does not deserve the stick he has taken.
100% agree about Bradshaw. Gets unwarranted stick considering he’s still our top scorer and led the line on his own for pretty much the majority of the first half of the season. I’d like to see him get back in.
Who would he replace though? Mcburnie plays in the position that would most likely suit him. He's not going to replace Moore as he doesn't offer the same presence. Just leaves Thiams place.
I’m still underwhelmed by a Thiam. Though I’d rather Isgrove than Bradshaw replace him. I like Tom but Moore and oli look good as a unit.
Nowt that a couple of goals wouldn't remedy though. Isgrove, hammill or even Hedges could also do a job there I reckon.
Got to agree there. After my computer being up the spout I'm catching up on games on ifollow. I want Thiam to be good but I can't see anything much there so far.
Anyone of the three can take a knock during a game , also anyone of the three can have an off day & with the idea of having competition for places , surely if opportunities come along its up to the player to step up to the plate , has that not been the problem all season that there has been no competition ?
I'm not talking about injuries or drop in form, that would just be stating the obvious. I'm talking about what role players are currently playing and who would Bradshaw replace like for like as the front 3 currently stands. Mcburnie is scoring a variety of goals, Moore has the physical attributes and height, which you couldn't expect Bradshaw to replicate, which only really leaves Thiams spot, unless he starts scoring a couple of goals, in which case Bradshaw is really struggling. If I was going to replace Thiam, I would use another one of the wide players.
Best I've seen him play was his sub appearance against Burton. Won at least half-a-dozen headers in the box where he knocked it down perfectly for someone to crack in a shot. Unfortunately, no one was reading them. I don't know why, he put them on the penalty spot each time. Long ball launched in to the area clearly suits him, but I don't think any of us want to see Barnsley play that way. He works hard, he's much more mobile than I expected from someone of his height, his performances have been so-so thus far... I guess we'll have a much better idea next season, as we will with a lot of the signings we've made.
I still think he is capable of scoring in a two & he played virtually all his game time up front on his own , what I am saying is that given the opportunity I think Bradshaw is capable of stepping in & doing a job & should not be written off
