He’s on about Norwich away, followed up by playing Cardiff and Paul Heckingbottom making 5 changes, most of which were not required
Personally think he,s full of **** could be proved wrong in long run,but it sounds like ******** to me.
100% agree I am also reasonably fluent in another language, but put me in a conversation with the locals and I struggle to be fluent and original all the way through. Partly because, before I reply I have to translate what they said into English (made even harder if they have an accent), then work out my response and translate it back. Also my vocab isn't as vast, so I end up repeating the same words or phrases during the conversation. You can hear Jose struggling to get his point across at times, and other times you hear him seeming to go round in circles. That's not great when you are coaching a team made up of mainly English speakers, but maybe that will change next year. I just wonder if the French chief exec picked up on Jose's English vocab skill level during the interview, bearing in mind English is also Ganayes second language.
Surely the players should see the very real threat of relegation to league one as enough motivation to start learning from mistakes. If they can't get motivated without a Churchillian speach then there is something wrong with them.
Still do not understand why you were laying into the coach who has been here 10 minutes , when the players have been sub performing since last august , its them what cross the white line , time they took responsibility
Results prior to changing half the team v Cardiff Barnsley 1-1 QPR Millwall 1-3 Barnsley Barnsley 2-2 Middlesbrough Barnsley 0-1 Hull Weds 1-1 Barnsley Burton 2-4 Barnsley Barnsley 2-0 Birmingham Norwich 1-1 Barnsley Should have beaten Hull. Could have beaten Middlesbrough. About as good as a team with our budget can expect at this level.
Agree but to change tactics and formations and rotations takes time and time we didn't have and even less now - hope he does it just get fed up watching heartless performances
Na - Hammill not the answer - some bottle would do and not seen any of that - anyway Hammill can't tackle he dives
He's talking about the draw at their place in October. We lost to Cardiff at home the next game, when he benched our two leading scorers. It was the start of Fecky's 1 win in 16 run.
Reading this thread and threads like it I honestly think we have among us some of the worst fans in the country. We're not even currently in the relegation zone and a good portion have decided its over no matter what/ decided on the next result. Not to say we don't have some of the best as well, they just seem few and far between at the moment. More interested in proliferating gossip to undercut morale and express pessimism as fact.
We also lost 3 of our first 4 games. Or if you like 5 of the first 8 which takes us up to the QPR game you chose to start the countback from. Presumably you chose that game to start as we lost the 2 going before it. To say everything was ok before then is not accurate at all. The signs were there for all to see and the lack of goals and a midfield eventually started to tell. Yes Hecky made mistakes, and i agree the team selection that night against Cardiff was a big one. If you think we were playing well before that then that too is down to Hecky.
I thought we would stay up until I saw the Millwall game the other Saturday. I've seen every minute of every game under Jose (reight fan) apart from Cardiff, and I've seen no improvement. The Burton first half and the Millwall performance are shocking bookends of his tenure so far.
We never played 442 under Hecky hardly anyway. We had to play 1 up top because Ugbo and Thiam were and are terrible. Which meant that our wingers had nobody to aim at. That's the whole point.
