Nonsense. Mccarthy moved to right wing, seemed a sensible decision to me. Better sticking mcburnie up top than Bradshaw.
Not fetched a defender on for a striker. We were playing brilliantly, bring on an attacking player. Press forward. Continue our good work. He's just too negative.
Moore was done. His options were Bradshaw (who wouldn't offer the height or physical presence required) or shove mcburnie up top and bring someone on the wing. Considering how bad mahoney has looked mccarthy was the only and correct choice. He has pace and height, which was what was required.
We sat back after 85 minutes and let them come at us, defending too deep. We should have continued pressing them; the keeper was allowed to pass it out to the full backs time after time, allowing them to build up an attack. Such a shame as Bristol deserved nothing, but anyway a really encouraging performance overall.
His substitutions put us 2-0. Absolute brilliance from Joe Williams to send Moore through on goal. The goal then comes from the right back position where our manager put on a right back to defend it and the right back was in the correct position to do so. He put a round peg in a round hole to deal with the defensive side of the game. It not Jose’ fault that McCarthy cannot be trusted. He’s put the trust in him there to stop the cross and yet again he lets us down. Finally when you need your keeper to make a match winning save he is unable to do it. 2 League One standard players cost us the game and that is not the fault of the manager. He has trusted them and they’ve let him down.
I know Moore was done. Not disputing that. Maybe we could "shove McBurnie up top", considering he's out best striker and a decent physical presence. Bradshaw too. A decent striker and our top scorer. Hecky was hammered for playing Potts out of position on the wing. Morais plays McCarthy out of position on the wing - he's apparently a tactical genius.
McCarthy moved to the wing ‘sensible decision’ aye the goal they scored down that wing proves you right.
But only when we are level. When we go ahead we stop trying to go forwards and sit back and we can’t do it. Don’t know if it’s the manager or players but we don’t seem able to go on and kill the opposition.
It's always been the same for the nigh on 50 years I've been watching us. We get in front, then stop playing in the manner that got us in front.
Bristol started throwing men forward and us being desperate to win pushed the players back to try and keep it - they wanted it so badly I think. Sadly when needed the goalkeeper isn’t up to it
