He's too big hence his lack of mobility. My honest opinion.

Most sensible post in this thread, you also see this with players who've been injured sometimes. They can't do training so they hit the gym build extra muscle then look slower and less mobile when they come back.

So what size waist do we reckon then?

    30? 32 max?

He’s not anywhere near big enough for that to be a factor. His natural frame is big but in terms of his body composition he’s not overly muscular by any stretch. He’s very well proportioned for his height and bone structure.

He just needs to work on his cardio vascular fitness and some extra agility work would be helpful too.

A lot of sportsmen try to build strength and power without muscle bulk. Think of Jonathon Edwards, triple jumper, he was very slight but incredibly strong, powerful and explosive. Bradley Wiggins actually got stronger as he got slimmer, as he lost muscle bulk.

Potts will always have presence because he has a big frame.

I don't think it's a huge problem for Potts, he's not that big, but at professional level it's all about fine adjustments. When you look muscular it's because you have a lot of fast-twitch fibre muscle and this type of muscle does fatigue much quicker. It may be hampering him towards the end of games.

Bit ridiculous that I'm talking about someone who is clearly extremely fit while I sit on my arse smoking a ***, but for someone who obviously does work on his fitness, his performance levels do seem to drop off more than most late in the second half.

Removing your shirt during a match is a yellow card offence.

I think, in this instance, it was worth a yellow card to demonstrate that the OP was talking out of his arse.

However, I also think that wearing a sports bra under your shirt should warrant second yellow.

It’s not a sport’s bra, it’s a data pack, they all wear one.

Me too. Although you'd think wearing such a ridiculous contraption, that makes you look half footballer, half Frank N. Furter, would kind of stop any self-respecting bloke from taking his shirt off in the first place.

We all look at footballers on the pitch & often you think some are carrying too much weight but when you see them out & about in public you realise just how thin they are.

Elliott Lee for example looked fat on a football pitch, I’ve seen him in Meadowhall & at the side of the average man he’s skinny, there’s nowt to him.

They’re tiny, even big defenders or strikers who look intimidating on a football pitch you see them away from the pitch & they aren’t big at all.

    There’s honestly nowt to Potts, I’m a 36 waist & I’ve a bit of a belly, there’s no way on earth he’d be anything more than a 32

It seems as though Potts is now getting stick for not so much being fat (lets face it - that was a drunken assertion from a posting miserable resident cartoon character looking for a "scapegoat") as being over-muscled.

Too much AJ - which tbh seemed to inhibit good ol' Frank in years gone by, so I hope it doesn't repeat itself tonight.

Anyway, Potts looks in shape to me. He's naturally awkward looking. If he naturally looked as busy as a bee a- la Scowen, he'd be left alone.

I’m trying to think of something I’ve read in my life that’s gayer than this post.

    Nope, sorry, I can’t.

Aye, you’re right. I read through Attitude the other day while I was waiting to get my hair cut. My mistake.

I agree I've seen Potts face to face and they is nothing to him 30 or 32 waist tops and that picture backs it up he just looks ripped to me. I don't think Potts is the best player technically but he likes to get the ball forward and has some pace to make those runs into the box like yesturday and against Preston and millwall to get on the end of those balls. It' nice to see the goal meant so much to him.
Personally having a go at a players weight is out of order especially when not true.

A juvenile attempt to get a couple of cheap laughs. I’m a bit embarrassed now.

I thought it was quite funny. Calling someone a ****** always makes me chortle. It's the schoolboy humour.
