The new owners are looking critically at what has gone wrong this season, regardless of the final outcome and that there is no sacred stone in the search for answers in putting it right.

They HAVE to look at recruitment and understand that the myopic recruitment of punts is, at this level anyway, fundamentally flawed

I suppose it all depends on them being involved or leaving it to those already around

I have wondered about this myself.

They definitely won't feel the disappointment we do with regard to what we achieved and where we are now, but surely they must know the score with regard to breaking up the team.

I really don't know what to make of them at this moment in time. Hopefully season ticket time will give us a better idea.

There’s been no announcement but they are available to renew now via e-ticketing. Seemingly at same price as last season’s “early bird”.

It’s recruitment that is the biggest indicator for me. If it’s more (and only) Knasmullner types then we know it carries on regardless

Quality recruitment is key but 'spending money' isn't always the answer . All transfers are a risk in one way or another .We've spent big money in the past on some right **** . It's not an exact science .

You would have hoped that ticketing would be specific to which league were in.

I know they were attracted to our recruitment process but surely they can't just plough on with it if we manage to stay up? League one fair enough, it's worked before.

Absolutely not but neither is solely recruiting punts and hoping they would all come good.

    Arrogant at best

They're all punts in a way . Who'd heard of Houriane, Scowen,Winnall, Watkins etc before we bought them . On the other hand the 'experienced ' Matt Mills for example .

But they were the best players in their clubs/leagues

Matt Mills hasn’t played enough so far to judge

But they weren't thrown into championship football they were bedded in in L1 . Potts was Blackpools best player, Keiffer Moore was Rotherhams best player, Mcgeehan was Lutons(unbelievably). It's the risk you have to take . Some you win some you lose but it's exactly the same when you spend say 2m on a player. Look at Ian Hume he was decent enough but 1.5 million give over . Giorgie Hristov I rest my case . Retaining our best players is far more important cos it will cut down on multiple panic buying .

We probably won't find out until we go down, come back up and are faced with all our best players being courted by other clubs again.

I say that because the majority of the current crop are (in my opinion) good enough to do well in league one so not really much to do if we get relegated, other than sell the club to the fans.

Relegation will be disastrous we'll inevitably lose our best players . Be careful what you wish for!

We will lose our best players anyway - McBurnie and Yiadom

Who do you think we will lose upon relegation?

Yiadom , Lindsay , Gardener(loan but too good for L1) Williams (as above) , Isgrove, Potts, Moore, . Silver lining tho at least we'll still have Mamadou.

Doesn't Knasmullner fit into that category?

You think folk will be wanting to pay for those not on loan? Can’t see it

I don’t comment on Mamadou Thiam.

Gardener too good for League 1??? I’d say he’s a league 1 player on top end championship wages. Far better options out there whatever league we find ourselves in next season.

Lindsay isn’t playing well at the moment and has had one decent game in 6 months. He’s going nowhere imho.

Williams will go back to Everton and play reserve football (U23s) or go out on loan to Sheffield United etc.

Yiadom will go obviously. Same as McBurnie.

I can’t believe we’ve got into this mess, it was all completely avoidable. The tactic of letting players go on mass was always going to kick us Square in the nuts. Added the fact that the spreadsheet has thrown up some proper duds has just exacerbated the issue.

Definitely. But it's still perfectly feasible that he'll come good.
