    Is he doing so bad?

can he be judge on just 8 games with a team that was struggling for a year and with a team that is not his.

What i do see is, we score and create.
Also he is not helped by so many mistakes. I do feel we have had so much bad luck, decisions going against us, bad referees and mistakes being instantly punished.

what i do see is, his record is very similar to his last 2 jobs. A lot of draws.

To sum up though, thought we played really good saturday. Moore was immense and how much Pott's goal meant to was awesome to see.

No I don't think hes doing that badly and I think some fans are being harsh on him. Its not a great squad that hes having to work with and its not his squad either (although it remains to be seen who his signings would be).
Id question him playing both Gardner & Williams together, and McBurnie being out wide up front, and over using his favoured 433 formation etc. But for those who say he should be sacked or he should pee off if/when we go down, thats just daft.

I agree. I would like to see Oli in the centre, but in the 433 where would moore play, I am not sure he could. Which is tough as I think we need him in the side.
442 we struggle in the middle of midfield and would get overrun which as been proven at times.
451 moore more could prob not play and we may struggle to create again. so it is vital moore and oli play and 433 allows that. but I agree oli on left is not ideal but he as scored and was player of the onth in that role so could we argue about the suitability of it. I think hes on the left to fit moore in and because hes our best player. 352 could suit us but we do not have time to work on ir introducxe a new system now.

I also do not like gardener and williams in the centre little creativity. I happen to think gardener looks way better without moore.
as for jose he should be given a chance, we gave hecky a year of poor form. granted the time was ripped up this season, but even after losing connor and sam we had a good team still.

The plain facts are that overall, he is getting slightly less out of the team than Hecky did. It's a substandard squad for this level of football, and we have more or less been in relegation form ever since January 2017 - for obvious and continuing reasons. After a brief flowering, Patrick Cryne's plan was in the process of seeing us return to League One. So far, the new owner's stewardship looks set on the same course. The success of 2015-16 was not built upon and 'investments' cashed in were not replaced with like. Therein lies our problem, and it will need investment in the project to halt this trend. Morais has undoubted experience working with talented players. But we know very little about his ability to work with low-value recruits or to coach at a poorer level of football. No doubt we'll find out in League One next season. My guess is that Morais will be going nowhere because I suspect Gauthier is heavily invested in him. And there is the most influential man at our club, presently.

How is he getting less out of the team than Hecky. Hecky was one win in 20, we also didn’t score or create. Not only did we not look like winning we didn’t look like scoring.
I have been shocked how much criticism the new owners have had after a few months. Talk about not being patient.

    30 games Hecky v 8 games Morais
Hecky: Wins ratio 20% Points ratio 30% (27/90) Goals per game 1 Conceded per game 1.46
Morais: Wins ratio 12.5% Points ratio 25% (6/24) Goals per game 1 Conceded per game 1.62
Based on those trends (which may not be a fair assumption) Hecky would have finished up with 41.4 points; Morais is on schedule for 39.25. [Morais' points ratio across a season would have yielded 34.5]

Bit subjective that observation as no one knows what jose's next 22 game would end up like, its guess work. it is also worth pointing out hecky had transfer windows and a pre-season to jose's 0 on both. anyway i think its better to stop looking back at Hecky, he left us. he got a super easy ride from the fans because he was from the town. he was lucky to inherit players from previous managers also.

It's not subjective - it's simply extrapolating Morais' results so far across a longer period. I know that there are a hundred reasons why that might not work out exactly, and it's something we obviously will never know. As far as transfer windows go, Hecky did not appear to be in control of who was brought in. He had Harvey Barnes. Jose has had Moore and McBurnie. Hecky would have liked McBurnie, and his results may well have been different with him. My point is not to hark back to Hecky - just to look at Morais' results compared to the previous incumbent. I haven't called for Morais to go, and I don't think he will. I do question whether he will be successful working with players with lesser ability than he is used to. And that may be more so in League One.

Yeh i agree with some of your points mate. I think hecky had more say about signings than people think. he said himself he did as he wouldnt play any who he was not involved in bringing in. I were not too confident on hecky spotting a player tbh.

I actually think our recruitment as been decent. had some good players, some bad. made alot of money from it. the keith hill method was the alternative. I am confident given chance the new owners will give us a sustainable future.

My main criticism of Jose is the way he is utilising McBurnie who I believe provides our best chance of survival.

    I get you
But you could argue he’s been scoring and got player of the month in how he was used. Move him to
    Centre where does Moore play

Don't think I have ever seen a manager get so little time before being written off by the supporters.

What’s to say Moore and mcburnie can’t play together as a two in the centre , they / Johnson used to say hourihane couldn’t play in a centre mid as part of a two

Just about all McBurnie's goals have been from him coming into the centre, closer to Moore. Just think what may have happened had he spent more than a few moments there.

Many lambast 4-4-2 but 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 have both failed and left us where we are. I'd also argue that we've not actually played 4-4-2 this season as when we've nominally lined up that way, the central midfield two were more like an extra two at the back in a 6-2-2 and we've never had a 2 to pair up front until McBurnie and Moore arrived. I get the argument that we don't have the central midfield players to play 4-4-2 but, come on, we don't have the central midfield players for any permutation.

The one thing we do now have is two strikers who can hurt the opposition, let's use that to maximum effect. We aren't good enough defensively to win games 1-0 so scoring seems to me to be the only way we're going to get out of this mess.

You never know, putting Moore and McBurnie together through the middle we might actually win a game 3-2 or 4-3 instead of losing them all 2-0 or 2-1.

I'd try them as a front two. I think McBurnie has been playing wider in the last two games, especially Millwall, than he played previously and his goals have dried up. Our most lethal striker has to be in the middle in my opinion.

Tee-Hee! Statistics!! So if the manager loses the first 2 games in charge you could "extrapolate Morais results" across the longer period and come up with 100% loss ration.
Comparing a new manager after only 8 games (with no signings of his own) coming in after the previous manager has had a bad run of 20 odd games is utterly pointless. Comparing apples with pears.

I think Jose would have done well if brought in last July with a year to get the squad playing his way and with time for him to get used to the Championship and the ability of his team and the opposition. I don’t think he was a great choice in a relegation fight that required an instant uplift in results.

He does seem more interested in not losing than winning once we are in the lead though we do look like scoring more in doing so we have sacrificed defensive stability. Substitutions especially from winning positions have been awful and McBurnie as left wing back is a waste of talent.

Of course we support him. If we go down I can’t see him hanging around though I don’t think we would or should sack him.

Well all true, Tekktyke. But it's Bank Holiday Monday, there's f*** all going on and Pogmoor is under three inches of snow! How is Italia?

[Big Sam was the most successful England Manager ever, btw!] :)

Surely the board should have said to him at interview... You appear to favour 433 but we don't have the players for you to do that. How will you manage the situation?

And surely he must be criticised for thinking we don't have the players for 433 but I'll be inflexible enough to just demand it anyway And having now got the best front pair we've had in a very long time surely never trying them together has to be a massive error that he is held to account for
