    It would be pathetic if it is called off so late due to ran overnight. They've had all morning to ask the referee to come out to do a check so leaving it to gone 11am before bothering to ask for one would be negligence

    What has the team setting off got to do with the pitch being wet? The team don't conduct pitch inspections, a referee does that.

    It's what who does? Pitch inspections take place at any time. 10:00, 11:00, 10:30, 9am there is no set time

    Perhaps they were hoping it would drain? The flip side is if you inspect at 10 and call it off then by 3pm it perfectly playable.

    They do it as late as possible but just before the team and official coaches set off, they set off at 12-15 today.
